I'm a Board Certified anesthesiologist and have been in practice for 24 years. I just learned that the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where I trained has launched a program to increase flu vaccine uptake among children by vaccinating them while under anesthesia.
The program is called "Close your Eyes. We'll Immunize"
This is stunningly irresponsible. Here's why:
Anesthetists are extremely risk avoidant and endeavor to minimize patient exposure to anything which carries potential side effects. This is particularly true of pediatric patients who very often have never been exposed to anesthetic medications. We simply cannot know how an individual child will respond to these drugs for the first time.
Every single medication we administer during an operation can potentially trigger untoward or allergic responses. When this occurs our primary responsibility is to stabilize the patient. Our secondary responsibility is to identify the offending agent. There is absolutely no justification of introducing another agent, in this case a flu vaccine, which carries a risk of harm and contributes nothing to the success of the operation.
Some of the more common side effects of flu vaccines are fever (11-16%) and less commonly, a rash (1%). There is also an non-zero risk of severe allergic reactions and high-grade fevers which can develop over the course of minutes.
What if a child under anesthesia receives a vaccine and develops a rash and/or fever? Is it from the antibiotic that the surgeon requested? Is it from the narcotic? The anxiolytic? The barbiturate?
Anesthetic gases can also (rarely) trigger a life threatening response called Malignant Hyperthermia which commonly presents as a high fever. Without subsequent testing we cannot know which agent was responsible. Most commonly the testing is never done and the child’s record will forever reflect the possibility that some or all of the drugs which were used are responsible for their reaction. This makes future anesthetic care significantly more challenging and will require the use of alternatives which may not be necessary.
Advocating for a flu vaccine while a child is anesthetized reflects the pervasive yet inaccurate attitude among the medical establishment that vaccines are perfectly safe. I simply cannot believe that my mentors would have ever supported this initiative when I was a resident there. Close your eyes indeed.

This is a follow-up to my last pronoun video, because comments like this prove exactly why the conversation matters.
“Misgendering” is not the issue.
The issue is whether women are allowed to speak accurately about sex, male bodies, male violence, and the female category without being insulted, corrected, punished, or silenced.
Calling men “she/her” is not just a private act of politeness. Once a man is treated as a woman in language, he can be treated as a woman in policy.
That is how men gain access to women’s prisons, shelters, bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports.
Women’s rights begin with the ability to name women as a sex class. If we cannot say who women are, we cannot protect what women need.

I still can’t believe CBSDFW ran this story when they knew it was a lie.
A local news station used a photo of a toddler’s rash, labeled it measles, and put it in a story without the parent’s permission. Mom, Dawn Neufeld, said it wasn’t measles — it was the child’s reaction to the MMR shot — and had to publicly demand they take it down and issue a retraction.
That’s not reporting. That’s using a kid’s vaccine injured face to scare people.

Here we are, months after we met in person, when you sat across from me spewing lies and discrediting the feelings of girls, and now you’re doing the same thing again.
You say in this interview that we should have “respect for our colleagues”. First of all, these people aren’t my colleagues. This is not about respect or disrespect. Then, you go on to dump guilt in our laps by saying that there are only 10–15 transgender athletes and then question why we can’t make them feel included. How dare you? It is not my job to make boys and men feel included. I don’t care about their feelings; I care about my own safety and fairness in my sport. Speaking of feelings, the downfall of education and what I see on a daily basis going on in the classrooms is more focused on feelings than truth and education standards which is a big problem. Life isn’t all about feelings.
You have come out publicly against I-638, saying it is unnecessary. Thank God we have an initiative process in place in this state that allows people to stand up and use common sense against people like you, who are pushing your own agenda and ideology down the throats of Washingtonians.
Coming from a 17-year-old, you’re useless. You are doing a disservice to the girls of Washington State by not having the guts to stand up for us. I also find it interesting that you say our brains are not fully developed until we are 25, yet you have come out against Initiative 001 and are in favor of minors being able to change their gender, be called a different name, and pursue “gender-affirming care” without their parents’ knowledge. I am not a state superintendent, and, for that matter, I haven’t even graduated high school. Yet, I have enough common sense to know that hiding information like that from parents is terribly wrong.
But let’s stick to I-638. As an adult with a fully developed brain, you should use it to stand up for us girls who are crying out for help and simply asking to be protected in our own category and locker rooms. You are a true embarrassment. Thank you for showing the people of this state who you really are, especially the girls who are suffering because of your lack of awareness about what is happening right within our state. Your daughter, whom you like to bring up, and who you claim was an athlete herself, should be ashamed of her own father for not protecting girls. It makes me sick to think that you are hanging this dark cloud of guilt over the young girls in this state who are fighting for something that truly matters and are simply asking for safety in their locker rooms and fairness in their sports.
I had an 18-year-old man in my locker room when I was 15. What, in your right mind, makes you think it is okay for me and other girls to have to potentially see a penis in our locker rooms? Again, what kind of person thinks it is okay for someone to see a penis in a girls’ locker room-perversion comes to mind.
You sit there and lie, making people afraid by spreading misinformation about the initiative. You claim that it requires an invasive genital exam to confirm someone’s sex. That is absolutely wrong. What is truly happening, however, is that girls are being forced to enter such vulnerable spaces and risk seeing male genitals without their consent, or to compete against males on their girls’ teams.
Lastly, speaking of respect, I have absolutely none for you. You have done nothing to support the truth; instead, you continue to go against it. You danced around the truth in April when we met, and you continue to do so now. If I were old enough to vote—and trust me, I wish I were—I would be the first one to try to vote you out of office.
Because you have done nothing, I will continue to ask @GovBobFerguson for a face-to-face meeting. However, I doubt that will happen because, unfortunately, he shares the same crooked ideology as you.
In closing, I want to encourage people to vote YES on I-638 to protect girls’ sports!

“Was assigned male at birth” seems like a simple, clear statement of fact. But it’s actually packed with deception.
1. Activists always use the past tense for sex (“was assigned”) and contrast it with present tense verbs like “identifies as” for gender nonsense because they want to trick you into believing the lie of “transitioning” — changing from one state to another. But males never stop being male. This alleged murderer did not stop being male. He is and has always been male. He is a man. Male and woman are mutually exclusive categories. Woman are female. And he is not female, so he is also not a woman.
2. Sex is observed. It is an objective fact, not something that is “assigned” or conferred upon you. Sex recognition is an evolved skill which all sexually dimorphic species develop instinctively. It is not a construct. It is not taught. It is an innate ability.
3. Sex is fixed at conception, not birth. Activists cling to the word “birth” to associate sex with things like your “birth name” or “birth town.” Names can be changed. People can move from place to place. But this framework does not apply to sex because sex is immutable.
Mr. Day is a man who says he’s “trans.”
He is a male murder suspect.
He is not now, nor has he ever been, female.

Dear Pharma- and Gates-funded GAVI: your post undermines your claim because the studies you cite do not support that vaccines do not cause increased risk and chronic disease. Anyone who actually reads what you cite will conclude as much and will likely decide to no longer trust you or the products you promote. That is called “thinking” or “informed consent” which you will then label as “vaccine hesitancy” or “anti-vax.”

Every girl on this field and beyond is the victim of Childhood Transition Abuse (CTA) - Secondary.
This is not just about blatant cheating at one High School sports meeting.
It is about reducing femaleness to nothing more than 'feelings' and empty performance.
It is about sending a firm message on conformity, compliance and power to every girl on the field, and to every girl watching.
But it backfired.
Because even though their brains are still forming and they don't yet have (supposedly) adult levels of moral reasoning, these girls know right from wrong.
And they decided they'd had enough of the lies and psychological trespass of pretending that a hulking, bullying, interloping boy is one of them.
Shame on every adult who let this happen.
These youngsters should never have had to take this stance.
