Tokenized US Treasuries are becoming more useful when they can do more than generate yield.
@NysaFinance just launched its first market on @Solana, allowing users to lend USDC and borrow USDC against @Ondo USDY.
Let’s break down why this matters. 🧵
USDY gives users exposure to a tokenized asset backed by short term US Treasuries. Nysa is building a lending market around that asset, allowing eligible users to supply USDY as collateral and borrow USDC against it.
That creates another way to put a tokenized real world asset to work within DeFi, rather than treating it solely as something to hold.
Here's how the market works:
→ Lending: USDC deposits go through Nysa Curated – RWA Prime, which allocates to the USDY market.
→ Borrowing: Users deposit USDY as collateral and borrow USDC through Nysa.
→ Market infrastructure: @Kamino powers the lending market, while @PythNetwork supplies price feeds.
Each component has a specific role in making the market function.
But the lending side deserves a closer look.
Nysa says RWA Prime currently charges 0% fees and offers a deposit based boosted APY that changes as the vault fills.
Its published examples range from approximately 100% APY at $25K in deposits to around 70% at $37K, declining toward 12% at the $250K supply cap.
Those are changing, incentive driven rates, not guaranteed long term yields. Anyone considering a deposit should examine the current rate, its underlying incentives and the associated risks.
The other part of Nysa's approach is curation.
In DeFi, users are often asked to trust whoever selected a market or vault. Nysa says its front end makes important information available for inspection, including addresses, historical performance, fees, due diligence, oracle details and changes to markets and vaults.
That transparency matters because lending is about more than the advertised APY. Collateral quality, oracle reliability, liquidity and risk management all influence whether a market can remain useful when conditions change.
Nysa's longer term ambition is to develop an open standard for onchain curation, where the reasoning and information behind market selection are easier to examine.
That is a meaningful direction for RWA lending.
Tokenization brings real world assets onchain. Lending markets give those assets another financial use case. Transparent curation helps users evaluate the infrastructure connecting them.
Nysa has now put its first market live on Solana. The next thing worth watching is how its lending activity, borrowing demand, risk controls and curation model perform in practice.

robinhood having a larger tvl than arc, that, I understand.
robinhood having more dex volume than arc, that too, I understand.
but having more stablecoin liquidity than arc is a thing of surprise to me.
circle is literally behind arc. the same circle that issues usdc and has spent years building its position in the stablecoin market.
my thinking is, if you're building a chain around internet-native finance and stablecoin payments, you'd expect that existing advantage to translate into liquidity on your own chain.
I guess that's the thing about building.
having the infrastructure, the backing and the vision is one thing. getting people to actually use what you've built is another.
I think arc needs to turn that circle advantage into something developers and users can feel. better reasons to build there, more useful apps, better reasons for people to stay.
because at the end of the day, the chain people care about won't be the one with the biggest name behind it.
it'll be the one that gives users a reason to stay.
In November I wrote that x402 would become the payment rail for AI agents
Eleven months later the rails are built. Linux Foundation, Stripe, Visa and Mastercard are all in.
But the buyers never came. 89% of the volume wasn't real. Full breakdown:

Hey Research Lab has indexed 1,368,688 records on Robinhood Chain. 1,047 of them made it to "verified builder with Robinhood Chain evidence".

Ask one AI chatbot to research a token, check the contract for red flags, crunch the holder data and write you a summary. It does all of it in the same voice, with the same blind spots, and nobody checks its work.
@OctopusNodes8 thinks that's the problem. Their whole pitch is one line: "One AI shouldn't have to do everything."
So what's an "AI node", and why eight of them?
I explored the protocol so you wouldn't have to. 🧵

We went to Yaba and asked 89 traders how business dey. The answers?
Interesting First week of a study that won't stop until we hit 10,000. We are now building continuous memory of the informal market, one key market at a time. We started with Yaba(Sabo/Tejuosho incl)
Half of Yaba is feeding the other half. Food and drinks make up about 50% of the businesses we saw, and 68% are one-person shows. Oga, manager and cashier, all at once.
Where you sell matters more than you think. 30% of shop owners make 100k+ a day. For table sellers, it's 12%. Those four walls are doing serious work.
89% said business is better than 3 months ago. 87% said restocking costs more. Zero people said things are worse. Nigerians and "we move" energy, name a more iconic duo!
Cash is no longer king. 59% of traders now get paid mostly by transfer. But only about 4 in 10 display their account details, so for the rest it's still "abeg, call the number again"
What's the biggest problem? Capital, by a wide margin. But only 24% borrowed anything last year. Everybody needs money; almost nobody can get it.
63% keep no sales records. 83% use WhatsApp Business. Book-keeping: no. Broadcast list: absolutely!
This is week 1. We're going to keep listening until we hit 10,000. What should we ask Yaba traders next?
