World Hepatitis Alliance (WHA) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) are piloting the world’s first-ever survey to understand the stigma and discrimination experienced by people living with hepatitis B and C. A world without hepatitis is within our reach – but we can’t let stigma and discrimination stand in our way. Stigma, often caused by misunderstandings about how hepatitis is transmitted, can drastically affect people’s lives and mental health. Discrimination against people living with hepatitis also frequently impacts their right to work, study and travel.
