I'll be pinning this thread and include my best works in it so that it will be easy for newcomers to read. Hopefully I'll be able to update this thread on a regular basis. :-)
As always, RTs will be genuinely appreciated.
Just some thoughts on us right now:
We're in the middle of two simultaneous but contradictory truths. Our results are great (4th/5th after a few tricky games) but the process doesn't make sense to me yet.
Every good team's style can be summarized in a sentence. What's ours?
The game is moving away from rigid on-ball patterns but there's a clear expectation for defensive schemes. Right now, I'm not seeing as many as I would've liked to expect.
But it's still early days - to say I expect better doesn't mean I want Alonso out.
Extremely happy to see Harry Kane win the Ballon D'or. Has a very real shout of being the greatest English player ever and gets taken for granted so much.
He was (by far) the best player IMO, well deserved winner.
I'm aware that several other managers needed long periods of sustained training to get their ideas to translate to the PL, which is why I'm not too harsh on Xabi. But he needs to show signs of change soon.
As for Quenda/Estevao - not ideal that they're our first back ups.

A week to prepare. Decides to make the most lethal front three in the league and rip it apart. Lost JP due to injury and decides to take Rogers out as well by playing him f9. Alonso is an absolute clown. Quenda is dogshit and you’ve got Steve rotting on the bench.
A successful Chelsea team will not look like the current version tactically.
This isn't to say I want Xabi out, but we're tactically a very primitive team. This won't cut it in the best league in the world.
I don't think it's an exaggeration to say two things:
1. We were more sophisticated tactically under Rosenior and Potter than now.
2. If it was any other manager (with less goodwill/aura) implementing these tactics, the noise would be a lot more.
This is an interesting POV. I know for a fact that Brighton are very particular about the clubs they're selling to.
Only if players perform well at their new clubs can BHA continue demanding big fees, so they take efforts to ensure they're sending players to the right spots.

I could be way off the mark, but it's concerning how poorly ex-Chelsea players are performing.
From a purely tribalistic lens, it's good to sell lemons to rivals, but as a club reliant on selling players, we need a reputation as a place where you can buy reliable players from.
Getting Scott in January would be a no-brainer move. It was remarkable to see the difference Henderson - old, nothing special but capable of doing the basics correctly - made next to Caicedo.
I thought Reece and Lavia would suffice, but I had overestimated them.
🚨Exclusive: Bournemouth are open to offers for Alex Scott in January under certain conditions. Decision to end not for sale stance came after talks with Scott's representatives. Liverpool and Chelsea are among the potential suitors.
