Four of my favorite spots n' shots out on the road exploring over the last year, taken on my Nikon D750.
Rusting machinery and old boiler hulks at the long abandoned Warney-Swasey factory in Cleveland, Ohio, as of the summer of 2024. This factory is currently being repurposed into apartments; a win for another historical industrial property.
Autumn foliage at and all over the surface of the abandoned Westinghouse Electric factory in Cleveland, Ohio.
Building 16 at the Philadelphia Navy Yard in Philadelphia, PA. Once used by the US Navy for massive ship refits/rebuilds, the vast industrial building, closed in 1970, was renovated and repurposed by Urban Outfitters to be their corporate HQ. Repurposing CAN be done well.
New Substack article out!: This edition focuses on the abandoned (and now lost) streetcar and trolley graveyard in Windber, Pennsylvania. A truly amazing place where one man tried to restore these beautiful old transit vehicles. Drop by, have a read; link in the comments! -Mr. P.

The truly massive and abandoned industrial complex that is the Budd Plant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
An early morning shoot at an abandoned factory/turned office building near downtown Detroit, Michigan, the Renaissance building in the background. I so hope this place gets the TLC and renovation love it deserves.
The echoing silences of the shredded and abandoned halls inside of McKerrow Elementary School in Detroit, Michigan.
One of those very small Detroit, Michigan factories that could have truly made just about anything in former decades, but which now stands abandoned. I have a belief that someone perhaps was in the business of stripping cars here at one point in the past...
The shattered ruins of Hara Arena near Dayton, Ohio. Once used for hockey games and other events, it was demolished in 2021.
The ruins of Darlington Concrete on the borders of Ohio and Pennsylvania in the late autumn of 2019; it was demolished a year or so later.
A snowy view of Detroit, Michigan's Ambassador Bridge from a gutted and gargantuan cold storage building, circa 2020. This building has since been commandeered and is being turned into apartments and businesses. At the time, it was completely empty and without windows.
The remains of the very unique and "off the ground" Belle Isle Zoo on Belle Isle in Detroit, Michigan. These were taken back in 2022; the structures were demolished in this past year to make way for park renovations and renewal.
An old storage garage in the metro-Detroit, Michigan area that was closed and abandoned; filled with old and long forgotten cars from a much different age in the Motor City.
The empty innards of the abandoned and since demolished Detroit Copper and Brass Rolling Mill near the Delray neighborhood of Detroit, Michigan. We caught this place mere days before the wrecking ball moved in to end its physical place in history.
The gorgeous greens and yellows of what was once the fantastic auditorium of Foch Intermediate School in Detroit, Michigan. Opened in 1925, closed in 2004 and demolished in 2024.
Scenes from an abandoned and sealed up hospital on Detroit, Michigan's southwest side. Sadly, this place was absolutely savaged by scrappers and edgy kids setting fires a few weeks after these photos were taken. It never seems to fail...
