The IRCC website states that open work permits under the TRPR expire on December 31, 2022 because all TRPR immigration applications will be processed by then. Today's announcement shows many won't be. Hopefully they quickly extend TRPR open work permits. canada.ca/en/immigration-ref…

I have been getting inquiries from construction workers without legal status living in cities other than Toronto asking if they are eligible to immigrate under this program. Unfortunately, IRCC for reasons never really explained has limited the program to those living in Toronto.

On November 27, 2019 the New Delhi and Chandigarh Risk Assessment Units conducted a joint survey to determine the extent of involvement of unauthorized agents. 95% of applicants had agents or friends help them. 8.5% of agents stated that they were authorized representatives.
