If McDonald's supply chain (they're the largest purchaser of beef in THE WORLD) is dependent on prison labor being paid under $1/hour... The implications are so SYSTEMIC that it means you have to throw out everything you've been taught to believe about how the "economy" works.

My sis was denied TWICE from the heart transplant list due to “noncompliance.” A 27 yr old BW w/2 kids. The noncompliance? Not always liking hospital food, missing meds b/c NURSES didn’t wake her up, & panic attacks seen as “aggressive.” She died 2 months after the last denial.

This isn't true - small time landlording doesn't generate that much income compared to other investment options. But I'm sure this myth contributes to a) keeping renters out of the ownership market and b) inflating the value of large portfolios/corporate landlords.

Source: I just worked out that the money I "invested" into a flat I didn't live in would have generated more income for me if I'd stuck it in cash savings at market interest rates. But it did generate income for the management agency!
