November 14, 1992 in a game known as the (Snow Bowl) at Notre Dame Stadium.
Trailing 16-9, Notre Dame faced 4th-and-goal from the Penn State 4-yard line with about 25 seconds left. Rick Mirer threw a short pass to Jerome Bettis for the touchdown. Notre Dame then converted the 2-point try Rick Mirer to Reggie Brooks with 20 seconds remaining to win 17-16.
