(1) Sharing an SRO with "6 or 7" other schools basically means no school has an SRO.
(2) Why train a lock down drill with 4 SROs, when you normally have no SROs?
(3) 4 SROs on scene *the day of the shooting* would've completely changed the outcome.

In some Colorado schools, thanks to @FASTERColorado - would be killers of children know they will not spent time in prison if they enter with murder on their minds, they'll be shot dead.

A 1 year prison term is a real penalty for a law-abiding person, but 1 year in prison for someone who murders 4 people & plans on dying at the scene is nothing to them. It just assures that the murderer will face unarmed victims. Fortunately, a father was willing to break the law when he saw the killer go into the school.

Take this opportunity to discuss the Good Guy With A Gun with friends and family. The good guy in Bend probably committed a felony while saving lives. In the 2-minute gap between when he killed the murderer and when the police arrived more children would have died. Simple math.

I am horrified at the news coming out of Oregon. There are no words to say when children are murdered at their school. It is every parents nightmare and no family should have to experience that pain. These tragedies deserve our prayers and action. We owe it to today’s victims, and every victim from gun violence, to do more.

- has safe storage laws requiring parents to secure guns in such a way as to prevent minors from have unattended access.
