🚨News Alert: Federal Jury Convicts Kern Valley State Prison Inmate Who Led Trans-Pacific Drug Trafficking Organization on Ten Drug Counts
HONOLULU – A federal jury has convicted Anthony Bravo, 53, an inmate at Kern Valley State Prison, for leading a trans‑Pacific drug trafficking network responsible for moving massive quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and carfentanil into Hawai‘i.
Evidence presented at trial showed that Bravo, an imprisoned felon with a lengthy history of violent crime and drug trafficking, was the leader and organizer of the drug trafficking organization and had transformed his prison cell into a global command center orchestrating a devastating flood of poison by pumping hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine and kilograms of deadly fentanyl and carfentanil across the Pacific and into the Hawaiian Islands. Carfentanil—approximately 100 times more potent than fentanyl—is used to tranquilize elephants.
Bravo was one of eleven defendants charged in connection with the network. The investigation resulted in the seizure of 150+ pounds of methamphetamine, several kilograms of fentanyl and carfentanil, eight firearms, ammunition, and over $150,000 in cash.
This prosecution is part of the Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) initiative. The HSTF is a whole-of-government partnership dedicated to eliminating criminal cartels, foreign gangs, transnational criminal organizations, and human smuggling and trafficking rings operating in the United States and abroad.

⚠️ FBI PSA: North Korean IT Worker Threat
The #FBI warns individuals and businesses that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) continues to infiltrate U.S. companies using thousands of state-controlled remote IT workers. These DPRK IT workers are paying Americans—especially those under financial stress—to pose for interviews, verify fake identities, host laptops, or share accounts. These activities are illegal and can expose individuals to serious legal consequences.
These actors use stolen identities, American facilitators, and increasingly aggressive tactics—including extortion and threats of violence—to fund North Korea’s military and nuclear programs.
If you or your company encounters possible DPRK IT worker activity, report it by your local FBI Field Office and file an IC3 complaint at ic3.gov.
