For everyone blaming Cubarsi:
Cubarsi needs an experienced, physical and aerially dominant CB next to him, just like he has with Laporte for Spain. We can’t seriously expect him to carry our entire defense when he doesn’t have someone alongside him who can compensate for his weaknesses.
This is no hate towards Gerard Martín, but he’s just not the profile that gets the best out of Cubarsi.
I see some saying we missed Olmo yesterday. The same Olmo who has never shown up in a big game? Stop the cope for once.
Who tf actually cares about that?
Instead of competing for the UCL, we’re just trying to max out useless stats.
What does Gordon actually offer? His pressing isn’t anything special, he doesn’t create much, his 1v1 ability is nothing special, he doesn’t do much defensively, and he can’t finish either. He’s decent at a bit of everything but doesn’t really excel at anything.
Mainly I blame Deco, we signed a player for €80m who is a back up at his best, Gordon as a squad player is also okay, but man not as a starter…
When Lamine has a bad game and Rapha plays as a striker, our attack is basically dead. Gordon isn’t playing badly, but he offers nothing at all and can’t decide a game or take over a flank. He simply can’t make the difference the way Rapha can as a LW.
We used to dominate one flank with Rapha and the other with Lamine. Now we dominate neither. Moving Rapha to striker means we need an elite winger to replace him. With Rapha and Lamine on the wings, we created enough chances that all we needed was someone to finish them. Now we struggle to create anything at all, our attack has actually gotten worse.
So don’t ever tell me again that we don’t need to sign a striker. If we want to win anything, we need Rapha back on the wing. That’s why I was only okay with signing Gordon because they sold us the dream of signing Julián.
And don’t get fooled by Neal Gardner just because he said Gordon did more than his job today. Since when is being average the standard at Barça? With that mentality, we’ll never win the Champions League. We could’ve done so much more with that €80m.

We always focus on our LCB situation, but our fullback situation is just so much worse. Every time we play a big game, they get badly exposed and end up being our biggest weakness.
Flick demands so much from them, and ours simply can’t deliver that. In his system, you need to be elite both defensively and going forward, yet our fullbacks barely offer either.
When Rapha plays as a striker and we don’t dominate, he’s so wasted. He obviously isn’t there to defend the way he does when playing as a LW. Gordon hasn’t been bad, but he offers no real threat, and his defensive work isn’t anything special either.
While Mourinho’s plan is working perfectly…
🚨 RMTV, right now: “Everything suggests that it won't be a normal match. What hopes we can have? The on-field referee has filed a complaint against us in the past, while the VAR ref was involved in Carlos Romercs violent tackle on Mbappe. Real Madrid fans have no hopes from the referees. We and Barça are polar opposite in benefitting from refereeing decisions.” ⚪
I think Cancelo has no excuse not to perform today. Xavi will be up against Diomande, while Mbappe also tends to operate more on the left.
That leaves Cancelo defending Madrid’s weaker side, so I expect a much better performance from him than against PSG, especially going forward.
