Remain vigilant! Press #MEPs of all groups. @RenewEurope, @EPPGroup @ecrgroup @IDGroupEP. Continue to press until the vote in plenary. Tag @EU_Commission : we want a directive!

We’re saying NO to unpaid internships! They make opportunities inaccessible to qualified candidates who cannot afford to work without pay.
We join @FII_Geneva in advocating for fair & accessible internship programmes in the UN system.
#Payyourinterns #UNpaid = #UNfair

In solidarity of the Fair Internship Initiative @FII_Geneva's global strike, we convened an action to show support and kick off the formalization of an Intern Committee in Nairobi. Nairobi-specific claims are to be collected still but long term goal: #UNpaid #UNfair #UNacceptable

Unpaid internships are unfair, undermine UN's declarations on diversity & increase intern vulnerability. We call EVERYONE (not just interns) to join the annual #GlobalInternStrike on February 20th in Geneva physically and globally here on UN's Social Justice day #UNpaidisUNfair
This proves, once more, why remote and unpaid internships decrease number of interns from developing countries and should not be allowed in 2023. Join this upcoming #GlobalInternsStrike in Geneva physically and the rest of the world digitally, to call to #banunpaidinternships 3/3
For ex between 2020 and 2021, East Asia & Pacific, & Sub-saharan Africa had the biggest drop in interns. Perhaps this was due to time difference while the UN favoured remote internships, but also proves African countries had fewer interns during remote work 2/3
The gratis personnel report of the Secretariat provides a retrospective look into the number of interns in the Secretariat for a given period. The latest 2021 report proves, once again, how unpaid internships undermine UN's declarations and supposed commitment to diversity 1/3
New year, continuing the fight! Join us in the Fair Internship initiative today, and learn how to engage with decision-makers to improve interns' situation.
