To who?
Outdoor dining was a solution to Covid. Why we still have/are approving them is beyond me.
Bus/Bike lanes getting built without public input is a no go. I should be able to have a say in what happens in my community — this takes away that right and gives it to gvt
Replying to @rodollaz_
Literally all of it is amazing. Ease of doing business improves, outdoor doing in and bike/bus lanes can now be streamlined, housing can be built much faster. These are some of the top needs
Yea so we weren’t supposed to say yes to all that
New: NYC voters gave a confident “yes” to all five of the ballot measures put forward by Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s first charter commission, with election night results favoring proposals intended to streamline government processes.

Marty has run the New York City Marathon every year since 1980 and finished his 43rd tonight as the last man across the line. He said it would be his final one his mind is still willing, but his body isn’t.
A remarkable way to end the streak. Congratulations on 43 NYC Marathons, Marty. ❤️
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The runner’s name is James Thomas, not Marty. The person who filmed and spoke with him (@MickmickNYC) confirmed this. He is not the 90-year-old Marty Granoff (who ran his 6th NYC Marathon in 2026, last previously in 1983).

Gotta put him down
HORRIBLE: An 8-year-old boy told a 6-year-old girl her dad was waiting for her upstairs. It was a lie, and what happened next was caught on her school’s cameras.
It happened Tuesday at a government school in Panchkula, India. Police say the boy led her into an empty classroom and attacked her, leaving her unconscious and critically injured. When her family arrived searching for her, it was the same boy who walked them to where she was lying. She’s now fighting for her life in the hospital. The classroom had cameras watched from the principal’s office, yet no adult stepped in. Police have opened a case against the school, and the boy is being evaluated by doctors to understand why a child that young would do this. Every parent sends their kid to school trusting someone is watching.
How does an 8-year-old end up capable of something like this?
