This series will be about the Essence of God. I will post a reply to this post regularly to add a characteristic of God. I will continue until all 10 have been covered. If you desire to walk this path with me, you can bookmark this post and call it up every now and then to check.
9th characteristic is Immutability. God is unchangeable. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. This is why we can count on His faithfulness because He doesn't change. His word, promises, and provision never alter. He is always faithful, only we change.
8th characteristic is Omnipresent. The word omnipresent is a combination of the Greek word Omni meaning ALL and then present meaning All Present. God is Ever present with no limitations on His whereabouts. This means, if/when it happened, God is/was an eyewitness.

Hyperbole has got to be the absolute greatest scourge of mankind today and perhaps of all time...nothing even comes close to how extremely terrible and completely soul crushing it is...there is nothing in this entire world that will ever be as phenomenally horrific as hyperbole.
7th characteristic is Omnipotent. The word omnipotent is a combination of 2 Greek words; Omni meaning ALL and potent meaning POWERFUL. God is All Powerful. His power has no limitations. He does restrain the use of His power so as not to override our volitional decisions.
6th characteristic is Omniscience. The word omniscience is a combination of 2 Greek words; Omni meaning ALL and science meaning KNOWLEDGE. God knows EVERYTHING: past, present, and future. He knows everything you did/thought, are doing/thinking, and will do/think (plus motives).
...positional truth...the NT says time and again that believers are In Christ/In Him...when God the Father looks at us, He sees His Son who is perfect righteousness, (saints)...how we act experientially is not the point! Trusting God in ALL things is our experiential goal...

5th characteristic is Eternal Life. God has always existed, before time began and after time concludes, God will exist. This differs from His offer to mankind of everlasting life, through faith in Christ, because ours has a beginning but no end.

4th characteristic is Love. God is perfect Love. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, the He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." God's love is exercised in keeping with all His characteristics setting none aside.
3rd characteristic is Justice. God is Just. He is completely fair in all His dealings. It is impossible for Him to be unfair. To claim that God is somehow unfair in any way, shape, or form is to be completely and absolutely wrong. He is Just in His forgiveness of our sins.
