While Los Angeles burns, our officers bleed — and the silence from many of our nation’s leaders is deafening. As rioters torch cars, hurl explosives, and attack law enforcement officers, some politicians would prefer to peddle lies to the community they supposedly serve, citing “peaceful protests” rather than condemning the violence against our officers and destruction of proper that is happening right in front of them. Let’s be clear: This is not a protest. This is a targeted assault on the rule of law. Law enforcement professionals are being doxxed, ambushed, and seriously injured — simply for doing their jobs. And while they hold the line, some elected officials are vilifying them, refusing to call out the violence, and siding with lawlessness over law enforcement. The Fraternal Order of Police condemns these cowardly attacks and stands firmly with every officer still out there — protecting communities, upholding the law, and refusing to surrender to the mob.
