The Estádio Olímpico Milton de Souza Corrêa in Macapá, Brazil is unique in the world.
Its halfway line sits right on the Equator, so that over the course of one match a team plays a game in both the northern and southern hemispheres.

We had a tough game. We were winning 1-0 in the last 16 of the Europa League when Jota found himself 1vs1 with the goalkeeper, starting from inside the opposition’s half. He was all alone, with plenty of time and space to run at the keeper and decide what to do…
The goalkeeper came rushing out, and Jota struggled to dribble past him or get a shot… and ended up missing the chance.
We fought until the very end to hold on to that 1-0.
After the game, of course, everyone was joking about the missed chance.
Then he replied, completely seriously: “Yeah, I don’t know why, but when I have too much time to think, I always make shit decisions” 😂😂😂😂
And he was right… Give him just 1 or 2 seconds to make a decision, and he was probably one of the best in the world.

I still don’t think people understand how absurd Yan Diomande’s rise to the top has been…

Feeling very conflicted about Sangare on my bench. If he plays, I expect DEFCON and some attacking opportunities mixed in. HUL(A) is a perfectly good fixture too.
Hall / Sangare / Thomas is a difficult decision

JUST IN: 19yo homegrown center back Neil Pierre has inked a new deal with the Philadelphia Union through 2030-31, with an option for 2031-32.
Pierre, a 6 foot 7 inch defender who broke into Philadelphia’s first team in the 2nd half of this season, has helped the Union go 15 games unbeaten with 4 goals and 4 cleans sheets, and recently made his USMNT debut in October
“Neil is one of the brightest young center backs in our league…His physical profile, ability to defend aggressively in 1v1 situations, and composure and confidence on the ball make him a model fit for both our game model and the demands of the modern game.” - Jon Scheer, Philadelphia Union Sporting Director
Huge congrats to Neil and his family👏

Newcastle sold out St. James’ Park every match-day in the Championship.
Manchester City can’t even sell out on a Champions League night after winning everything there is to win.
The soul matters. The culture matters.
In fact, it matters a hell of a lot more than winning.

The Union fullbacks are stupid good. Kai Wagner starts a 50-yard run before Jovan Lukic even gets on the ball, because he knows the switch is on. It's either coming to him via square pass, or he's bombing the flank with an overlapping run.
Then Westfield cooks a guy 1v1 ☠️
Banger after banger.
You never disappoint @ElMengem
On Sunday, Hearts play Celtic for the first time since *that* final day fixture.
@COPA90 & I were there for every second of it, where what we captured resulted in one of the most powerful documentaries we’ve ever made.

“You talk so much sh*t about every other young upcoming player in the past but yourself.” 😳
Eddie Johnson has hit out his former USMNT teammate Landon Donovan over recent comments about the young American players.
Donovan explained caution with Cavan Sullivan and the young USMNT squad last week on Unfiltered Soccer podcast.
He said he’s seen many stories of Americans who were hyped as teenagers and failed to reach their potential. He then gave Freddy Adu, Santino Quaranta, Gio Reyna, and Eddie Johnson as examples.
Eddie Johnson has now responded on Instagram.
“I can’t speak for Freddy Adu or Santino Quaranta or Gio Reyna but I will speak for myself Landon Timothy Donovan,” he wrote.
“You talk so much sh*t about every other young upcoming player in the past but yourself lol why don’t we talk about the five years you were in Germany and failed and ran back to MLS bc you weren’t good enough? Why don’t we speak about this?
“One of the best considerably players in our country failed in Europe early in his career no one killed him but he’s killing all these young players that have done more then he ever has done in Europe.
“I got time today. You played in a World Cup, I played in a World Cup. You played in a U-17 World Cup, U-20 World Cup, and Olympics. I did the same.
“What makes you different than a kid from Bunnell, Florida?
“I did everything you did with fewer opportunities and still considered one of the best strikers this country has seen!!”
Eddie Johnson played for the USMNT from 2004 to 2014, scoring 19 goals in 63 games.
He’s two years younger than Donovan, and played many times together with him— including in the 2006 World Cup.
