Democrats rely on identity politics, so they can't stand seeing Black Americans reject their narrative of victimhood. They need Black Americans to believe they're victims who need someone else to rescue them, because people who see themselves as helpless will depend on others rather than take control of their own circumstances. And when government positions themselves as their savior, that dependence becomes a political advantage. Rather than encouraging independence and self-reliance - Democrats have created an incentive to preserve that dependency, while convincing people to resist anyone who challenges it. Strong, independent thinkers are a threat to Democrats' power. The moment people realize they don't need a political party to save them, that party loses its ability to manipulate the vote to keep them in power.
