They may go there for cheaper housing but it’s not true that California is underfunding k-12 schools:

A disappointing discussion at #IAC2026 I had hoped it would discuss specific lunar areas that need to be preserved for scientific or cultural interest eg Apollo 11. Turns out, not only have any been identified, there’s no international way to designate them!

Per @NASA s Graham - We are using nuclear power to allow a base - we want to stay at the moon not just visit for a few days. He focused on the need to develop a lunar supply chain with a cadence of missions for standardized hardware for use on multiple spacecraft not bespoke ones

A great #IAC2026 discussion on the importance of radioisotope thermal power for surviving the lunar night. Per M Creech of @FireflySpace , at night, lunar temps drop as low as -275F; circuit boards literally break!

Is it just me or is everyone getting spammed with this absurd plague fighting game ever since the Irkutsk plague incident…?

It’s a standing room only crowd at the @IAF #IAC2026 in Antalya, Turkey for the annual meeting the astronauts panel! A dozen astronauts from around the world shared their experiences and responded to questions from the audience - many from students.

A great #IAC2026 Commercial LEO Destinations panel of CEOs of the competing firms as they await the RFP for the next @NASA competition. @VisitSpaceBeach @Vast CEO Haot cited signing France, Greece & Czech as initial customers for LEO missions & 🇫🇷 as an early Haven I customers!

At an @NASA ISS microgravity research discussion, Nicole Wagner, President & CEO of LambdaVision, a biotech firm, discussed how they are developing a protein-based artificial retina to treat patients blinded by incurable retinal degenerative diseases.

@Redwire Mike Gold; we have demonstrated printing living human tissues in space on @NASA ISS using tech that could be used to print organs. It may be a decade before this is ready but we will need a new LEO station optimized for production. These could revolutionize medicine.
