I don’t understand why it is so unfathomable for one piece players to understand the reason behind card bans. Cards are banned because they restrict what new cards Bandai can print, not just because “deck strong. me no like”

My point is I think Mihawk isn’t gatekeeping a wide meta, I think it’s saving us from a t0 meta. People hate spiders but don’t realize spiders stay to themselves and are pest control that keep mosquitoes and flies from bothering you. Mihawk is saving us from rocks meta

A card like Mihawk shifts the balance of the game because you cannot print generically good green spells or slash leaders with it around. It limits the options available in the game for everyone. Same thing goes for RP law. A deck like rocks couldn’t even exist with pudding

But, in 6 months when RG gaimon is BDIF people will pretend like they never said this shit, call for that to be banned, and act like Mihawk was never strong and didn’t completely prevent most people from playing the game

Imo, people who do this should face a 3 month ban from majors unless they have a proper documented excuse (family emergency, illness, etc). It might be harsh, but this entitlement is so blatantly disrespectful and will make ult completely unsustainable as a competitive ecosphere

i’m not involved with the platfight team but i’ve been doing networking of my own volition and it has made me realize that ult players are genuine morons who need to be babied around for everything. almost everyone i’ve invited has confirmed and then subsequently cancelled (1/?)

This problem simply does not happen in melee. The fact that a top 150 ult goober feels that they deserve so much more than the average competitor is insane. If you don’t know if you can go then simply don’t confirm

Went 7-3 at the Virginia One Piece TCG regional and won the pre-local with RB Sabo. Bubbled out of prizing, but I knew I had bad breakers Matchups for both events posted below Overall, had a ton of fun preparing for and competing in this. Ready to lock back in for smash tho :)

What separates a high level player from a mid level player in smash? Not gameplay or mental wise, but what are the actual accolades it takes to be considered high level? Is it very empirical or is it vibes based? Who is the worst high level player and best mid level player?

5th at fusion beating TWICE, Pizza Ant, and LemonTea Despite the good wins I feel very bad about the performance. I played decent, but my ego is unaligned with my skill. I feel entitled to wins which I never should Gonna take a break and return more focused Ggs regardless :)

The Fade & Watch also did well vs obmcbob. Idk if it is the long term solution vs him specifically, but at the very least I know it is strong enough to use in bracket consistently now

I think this has a lot more to do with covid mental effects than stats. Social isolation leads people to view smash as an avenue to feed their egos rather than a place to meet friends. PRs and stats have always existed. The weirdos who don't see competitors as real people are new

Ever since we lost the Panda Cup and Smash World Tour, Smash has been heavily motivated by rankings & stats, to the point where higher-seeded players AT LOCALS can be subjected to constant posts about being upset, and those posts & losses being held over their heads. 1/4

There are people at my locals I have desperately wanted to beat, and there are people that have desperately wanted to beat me. However, the dehumanization of someone just looking past the other player is what feels so bad. Bringing up their supermajor page after is secondary imo
