More than a trillion dollars came in and it still wasn’t enough. If tax is at its highest share of the economy in nearly 20 years, where’s it all going and why does it feel like we’re getting less for it?
FOR THE FIRST TIME, AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENTS TOOK IN MORE THAN $1 TRILLION IN A YEAR. THEY STILL SPENT MORE THAN THEY COLLECTED.
We keep hearing there isn't enough money. So I went to the Bureau of Statistics' own tables for 2024-25, every level of government: federal, state and council.
The tax. $839.0 billion. That's 30.2% of the whole economy, the highest share since 2007-08. Federal took $675.2 billion, the states $140.7 billion and councils $24.6 billion.
Per person.
The Bureau puts it at $30,633 in tax for every man, woman and child in the country. About $589 a week.
Where it comes from.
Personal income tax $316.2 billion, plus $25.7 billion in Medicare levy. Company tax $143.7 billion. GST $94.8 billion. Stamp duty on homes $34.4 billion. Payroll taxes $41.7 billion. Council rates $25.1 billion. Gambling taxes $10.0 billion.
On top of tax.
Another $183.4 billion from fees and charges, royalties, interest, dividends and other revenue. Total: $1,022.4 billion. The Bureau says it's the first time revenue has passed a trillion dollars.
And they still came up short.
Spending was $1,030.5 billion. Interest costs alone were $47.4 billion, nearly double ten years ago.
Ten years ago the tax take was $463.7 billion. It's up 81%.
Same standard.
That decade covers Coalition and Labor governments in Canberra and both sides in every state. Nobody gets to blame the other lot for this.
In fairness, those are dollar figures, not adjusted for inflation, the population has grown, and part of the tax is paid by companies, not households. Spending grew a little slower than revenue over the decade.
But governments have never taken in more of your money. When they say there isn't enough, the problem isn't how much they collect. It's what they do with it.
Same standard, every side.
Cold Hard Facts. Corrected when wrong. No misinformation.
What's your thoughts…?

Another rate rise in Melbourne Cup week, for families already flat out keeping up. Is anyone actually getting inflation under control or are mortgage holders just going to cop it again?

Hundreds of little kids were abused in childcare before anyone caught on. How did he keep getting hired and are the checks on childcare workers any tougher now?
Most hated piece of shit in Australia.
Serial paedophile Ashley Paul Griffith, during his time as a child care worker extradited to face charges in NSW. Hundreds of babies and toddlers were sexually abused.
He has just been transferred to NSW to face more than 200 more alleged csa offences.
QLD refused to pay for his transfer via a private plane. Instead gave him the uncomfortable ride in a police car.
He’s lucky none of the parents were around. 😡😡

Waking up to a bloke with a machete trying to get in is every family’s nightmare. If he was out on bail, who decided that was safe and are the bail rules actually working?
A family was woken up to a man attempting to invade their home in Melbourne this morning with an armed machete while on bail
The bail laws in Victoria are an absolute joke
Time to vote out Labor and @BenCarrollMP this November.

A convicted sex offender taken to the gym, and then he’s gone.
Members of the public have been warned not to approach an aboriginal sex offender who is on the loose after escaping custody while on a supervised visit to a gym.

Two kids forced to fight with a machete at their throats, in an Aussie suburb.
The new norm.
Sixty-two people killed in one raid, and it barely makes our news.
How many attacks like this go unreported?
Reports just confirmed another slaughter in Nigeria: at least 62 dead, dozens wounded, and thousands forced to flee after armed gunmen raided a local community.
Right now, 7 out of every 10 Christian martyrs on the planet die in that single country alone. One is murdered every 86 minutes.
The legacy media will still chalk it up to "land disputes.” That is a lie. It is the targeted, systematic slaughter of Christians, as well as Muslims who aren’t radical enough.
When ISIS burned Christians in cages, the world changed the channel. When Kabul fell, they looked away. I refuse to.
This week, two brave women from my charity, @Mercury1Charity, are flying to Nigeria to help build rescue networks. It’s a humanly impossible mission, but I believe that’s where God does His best work.
Lodging a fake claim against a fund for terror victims is about as low as it gets.

Man charged over allegedly false Bondi terror attack injury claim

The law lets authorities ask to keep high-risk terror offenders locked up longer, so why wasn’t it used here?
TERRORIST WALKS FREE THIS SUNDAY.
Isaac El Matari, self declared Australian ISIS commander, finishes his five year sentence and is being released.
No Continued Detention Order. No extension. Home Affairs simply let it happen.
This is the same man who planned an ISIS stronghold in the Blue Mountains and targeted St Mary’s Cathedral and the US Embassy.
He is a known associate of Naveed Akram, the alleged perpetrator of the Bondi Hanukkah massacre.
Tony Burke and Home Affairs had the power to keep him locked up for up to another five years.
They chose not to.
The AFP is scrambling for a weak control order instead of proper detention.
Australians were slaughtered at Bondi.
The jihadist networks that fed it are being let back onto the streets by this government. El Matari should be deported, not monitored.
Citizenship stripped, not protected.
But Burke’s department has done nothing.
Weak borders. Soft sentences. Terrorists released.
This is what Labor delivers.
Not overseas. Not online. Right here in Melbourne, in plain sight, at a centre funded by taxpayers. #auspol

Every woman should be able to go for a swim without being grabbed. If “I didn’t know it was wrong” keeps getting people off the hook, isn’t it time the courts stopped buying it?
> third worlder groping women at the beach
> called out for doing so, this is a crime
> "I'm new here"
These men will keep hurting women. And they will continue defending their actions by claiming they didn't know harassing women is wrong. And our fuckass judicial systems will keep letting this excuse work.
When is enough, enough? When do people realize there is no living alongside these animals?
Two attacks on worshippers in two days, and dozens dead. Why does this barely rate a mention here.
Friends, in just two days, Christians were murdered on two continents.
On Friday, gunmen opened fire on a funeral at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church in Karak, Jordan, and killed nine people. On Saturday, armed men attacked Orthodox churches and homes in Oromia, Ethiopia, and killed more than forty.
These are not statistics. They are our brothers and sisters, members of the mystical Body of Christ. When Saul set out to destroy the Church, the risen Jesus asked him, “Why are you persecuting me?” The Lord is still being persecuted in these victims of anti-Christian violence.
Christianity is by far the most persecuted religion in the world today. Those of us who worship in comfort have to ask what the deaths of these martyrs demand of us. At the very least, they demand that we pray for them, learn their names, press our leaders to act, and refuse to look away.
The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.
When a woman is allegedly killed, the headline shouldn’t read like an excuse.
Frances Crawford was doing everything possible to continue her relationship with Robert Crawford. He was constantly cheating on her, amongst other things. He is charged with Frances' murder and is now on trial. The headlines around her death are now heading into justification for murder territory. This headline from the Courier Mail reeks of clickbait. And it will make readers feel sorry for him and see justification in his alleged actions. No one just snaps when they kill women - violence does not happen in a vacuum!
If a quarter of the counter-terror jobs were sitting empty, someone should’ve been ringing alarm bells.
AFP Commissioner Krissy Barrett has some serious explaining to do.
Former AFP Detective Superintendent David Craig has dropped a bombshell, accusing Commissioner Barrett of completely ignoring a “critical” whistleblower report that exposed a staggering 25% vacancy rate in the force's counter terrorism units before the devastating Bondi Beach attack.
The details raising concern include:
The Warning: Three specialist counter terrorism commanders took significant career risks to flag a 25% vacancy rate just before the national terror threat level escalated to probable.
The Response: Commissioner Barrett indicated in Senate Estimates that she was not formally advised about the document at the time, despite serving as Deputy Commissioner of National Security.
Questions remain over how such a critical resource deficit could be overlooked by top leadership.
The Inquiry: There appears to be a major disconnect between the whistleblower report and the Royal Commission's interim findings.
The public deserves full transparency regarding how senior leadership managed these warnings and what is being done to address these critical staffing shortages.
It appears that Krissy Barrett is our latest so called leader now running protection for Radical Islam.
What is happening to our country?
