At a 12U girls’ softball game Saturday in Sugar Land, Texas, an argument over when parents can cheer turned violent. Kiarious Marshun Hall allegedly swung a full metal water bottle into another father’s face after being told not to cheer right before pitches, knocking him out with a fractured skull, broken jaw, and three brain bleeds.
Hall’s wife Jazmine joined the fight and injured a grandfather who tried to intervene (broken hip). Both were arrested on assault charges; she resigned as a junior-high assistant principal. Hall claimed self-defense, but video reviewed by police did not support it.

She got 5 years.
And has 2 weeks to make arrangements before reporting on Nov. 9.
Grant Simmons was about 8 months old.
On March 10, he was put down for a nap.
Not in a crib. On a bed.
At an unlicensed home daycare in East Canton, OH.
Prosecutors say he suffocated.
Melanie DiMarzio, 46, ran it out of her home.
She allegedly watched 5 to 10 kids at a time.
She was allegedly paid $45 per kid per day, in cash.
The village alleged she had no current CPR certification.
It also alleged no baby monitors, no emergency plan and no proper beds.
She allegedly couldn't even say how many kids she watched.
She allegedly didn't know one toddler's last name.
After Grant died, she planned to reopen within 2 weeks.
A judge shut her down.
She pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and child endangering on Oct. 27.
A charge carrying up to 11 years was dropped.
Sentenced to 5 years.
That's what a baby's life was worth.
In court, Grant's mom said DiMarzio wanted to reopen the day of Grant's funeral, then they went on a family cruise and posted "family is forever."
The judge said, "How tone deaf do you have to be?"

Judge Sarah West tossed out a jury’s six guilty verdicts in a $7.2 million Medicaid fraud case against Abdifatah Yusuf. The Court of Appeals just reinstated those verdicts. Minnesota should investigate whether she received any improper influence from Yusuf or others, remove her from the bench if warranted, and review her other rulings for similar issues.

Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy just ordered a CRIMINAL investigation into Mary Peltola's Senate campaign, CNN reports.
It follows the NYT report that Peltola-aligned operatives recruited spoiler candidates, including one with the SAME last name as Sen. Dan Sullivan, to peel votes from him.
