Microsoft sent me a Surface Laptop Ultra with 128GB of unified memory. My MacBook Pro has suddenly become very quiet.
Just got home from NVIDIA GTC, and this was waiting for me. Naturally, I’m giving it the most reasonable first test: taking it to GitHub Universe on Monday as my main work laptop.
Real work, local AI, and a deeply irresponsible number of browser tabs.
Can it actually replace my MacBook Pro? Or will I be borrowing someone’s Mac by Tuesday?

Jason is one of them. Specifically his emphasis on parenting.
Lately, I’ve been talking with more PSPs and PayFacs about wallet payments.
One thing keeps coming up in these conversations.
There’s definitely interest.
But most teams don’t want to turn into blockchain infrastructure companies just to add another payment option.
They want to offer merchants more ways to accept payments, but without dealing with the complexity of wallets, networks, confirmations, settlement, and reconciliation.
That makes sense to me.
After all, customers should just see a simple Pay with Wallet option.
Everything else should happen behind the scenes.
I’m curious:
Are wallet payments already on your roadmap for 2027?

I did this from 2020 to 2022. Such programme still needs to exist despite everything you have pointed out. If we can find someone to volunteer as programme manager/admin, there might be a comeback.

We also ran a mentorship programme and had mentors from @Microsoft, @Mastercard, etc. youtube.com/playlist?list=PL…
The real game changer in Nigeria tech will be to set up a program where experienced Nigerian engineers can mentor mid/senior engineers, do interview preps and mock technical interviews and system design rounds, refer Nigerian engineers in companies that offer relocation support, etc.
But this will not work for a few reasons:
1. The people who are supposed to learn already think they know too much. They are 'thought leaders' already and can’t suddenly become mentees.
2. Finding genuine mentors will be hard. The people who will want to get paid to become mentors are a huge red flag and will mess up the entire program.
3. The organizers will not find a business opportunity as this model is not profitable.
So what we have in every corner are programs targeting beginners. Which just means more people with an inflated ego targeting jobs they are not qualified for.
