โOur fan bases are very passionate. Itโs a very niche market that we try and grow. And the way to do that is through something like FanWord, where we can tell our stories, resonate with the community, and have those human interest stories that tell people why our student-athletes and our teams are so important in their communities.โ

Honored to be asked to do this. The title of "35 Years Behind the Scenes" is a little disconcerting, but truth is truth. Weird if you counted my student assistant time it's 38!
Thanks to FanWord and @CollSportsComm for thinking of me on this.

"Once a week, I leave just a smidge early. I get home, my wife and I have dinner, and we spend time together. Itโs usually not watching TV. Itโs the two of us talking about the week, about life, the kids, the grandkids, whateverโs on our plates. Thatโs hard to hold onto during football season, but I make time for it, because we both need that connection point. I became a much better SID when I got better at work-life balance, and my wife was the biggest key to that."
