How do you think about “resources” and what are your favorite introductory writings on them? $, labor, attention, space, material, etc. I have resources in the libraries sense (items/documents) covered, unless you’ve got an absolute fave reading.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of defending my dissertation, Disambiguating Ambiguity, in the company of my committee, UW iSchool community, family and friends. Thank you to everyone who supported my work. You are all darlings. I made a zine, too! I’d love to send one to you.

20+ years ago I bought this antique postcard in Seattle. Mexican postage and address, message on back in code. In English: “one kiss” in cursive on the neck of the woman in the image. Very romantic, I’ve looked at it daily since but never tried to decode. Wanna help?
🧵 1/?
3/? The back of this one has the same code, but less text. Both are beautifully signed “Benjamin.” I don’t recall if there were more coded cards—I was young and delighted and they were expensive. I know these were my favorites.
Library + cataloging friends (writers too!): tell me the title of the most difficult-to-describe, interdisciplinary or mixed-genre anthology you have encountered! Always interested in non-anthology hard-to-describe non-fiction, too.
What is the most interesting work on the history of real estate marketing? I’m curious about how the concept of view as a feature has shifted, in tandem (or not) with architectural styles and interior layouts (public/private space). @shannonmattern ?
Just listened to the essay by @lmillernpr on this week’s @Radiolab. Between her wonderful book, Why Fish Don’t Exist, and this piece, I’m feeling pressure and inspiration around how I might elegantly write my dissertation on overlapping themes.
