My niece just informed me that she has resumed at the University of Ilorin. I plan to visit her occasionally in school, sometimes with little gifts, just to give her that special joy I always felt whenever someone came to visit me back in my days at FGC Ilorin.
Growing up, I learned to do a lot of things for myself from a very young age. By 14 or 15, I was already taking responsibility for myself. Perhaps that is why I deeply appreciate even the smallest acts of kindness and thoughtful gestures. It’s not necessarily about what someone gives me, but the feeling of being remembered, cared for and thought about.

Some families operate like cults: truth and justice mean nothing, protecting their own comes first. They will blame the innocent spouse for the sins of their family members just to maintain their family loyalty.
May we not only marry wrongly; may we never marry into a cultic family where blind loyalty is valued above truth and justice. That is a lifetime sentence of silent suffering.
Which one is Ija violence again? Is there any fight that do not come with violence?
EXCERPT:
“When the time comes, we will tell you who your father is. You are asking what Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq did before becoming governor. He had been awarding scholarships to people, unlike you, who use your Senate money to secure JAMB forms. We also provide JAMB and WAEC support to students.
“The opposition wants to resort to violence, but we will not follow them on that path.” — Prince Abubakar Sulaiman Sai Kayi, Senior Adviser on Political Matters to the Governor, Kwara Central.

To hell with You and your apology
I want to clarify something about my earlier post. When I tweeted, “I look like Yoruba kee? Does my skin look bleached, or are my hands giving two different shades?”, it was simply playful banter. I wasn’t trying to undermine Yoruba women, insult anyone or start a tribal war.
Nevertheless, I apologise to anyone who felt offended or interpreted it as an attempt to instigate tribal conflict. That was never my intention.
I believe we can both make fun of each other, laugh about our differences and engage in harmless tribal banter without turning it into an opportunity to instigate hatred. We should be able to laugh with one another without making everything a tribal rivalry.
There was no hatred behind my post, and I hope we can understand the difference between harmless jokes and genuine tribal bigotry❤️

BEFORE YOU PROMISE TO RESCUE KWARA, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR OGIDI WARD?
It is quite interesting to hear Oloriegbe speak passionately about the development of Kwara State, criticise the IWAJU L’À NLO philosophy and promise to bring a new government that will fulfil promises made to Kwarans seven years ago.
But before embarking on this political rescue mission, perhaps he should first answer some fundamental questions about his own political backyard.
Let’s start with Ogidi Ward.
For decades, Ogidi has struggled with bad roads, many of which remained neglected since 1999 until the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq began addressing some of these long standing infrastructure challenges in his first year as a governor.
Our schools have suffered from dilapidation, our youths continue to grapple with unemployment, poverty remains a major concern, and the ward has yet to enjoy the level of development its political relevance should command.
This is a ward that has produced Oloriegbe, yet one is compelled to ask what remarkable developmental legacy can the people point to as the dividends of that political representation?
What has happened to the roads? What has happened to our schools? What deliberate economic interventions have transformed the lives of our young people? Where are the opportunities and sustainable empowerment programmes that should ordinarily accompany such political relevance?
Even more concerning is the growing perception of a one-man-show style of politics, where political relevance appears concentrated around a few individuals while the ordinary people continue to wait for meaningful dividends of democracy.
These are legitimate questions, not political insults.
Now, the same man wants Kwarans to believe that he has suddenly discovered the formula for good governance.
As for their criticism of IWAJU L’À NLO, moving forward does not mean everything is perfect. It means recognising progress, addressing shortcomings and building on what is working.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration has demonstrated that some of the infrastructure challenges that were ignored for decades can actually be addressed.
Oloriegbe must first explain his scorecard in Ogidi before asking Kwarans to buy into the promise of rescuing the entire state.
You cannot consistently preach development at the state level while the developmental questions in your own backyard remain unanswered.
Kwara deserves facts, not political theatrics. It deserves accountability, not recycled promises.
IWAJU L’À NLO! Forward Ever
Hassan Kabir Olayinka
Political Analyst, Ogidi Ward.
