Thank you everyone who came to our posters sessions today at #ADASciSessions Final posters are available on our faustmanlab.org/publications…
These trials were a decade in the making. We would not be here without all of the families impacted by type 1 diabetes who supported us.
Join us this week on "Notes from the Lab" as we speak with Matthias von Herrath Vice President and Senior Medical Officer, Global Chief Medical Office at Novo Nordisk to discuss trends in type 1 diabetes"open.spotify.com/episode/393…

Six more BCG treated patients significantly improved their HBA1c and new evidence, shorturl.at/xh8Ww, the spleen, triggered by BCG, is critical in glucose regulation, We are actively enrolling pediatric T1D trials. Contact lab if you are interested. #bcg4T1D #T1D
Sunday at #ADA2024 in Orlando new data from positron emission tomography (PET) and X-ray computed tomography (CT) studies of BCG vaccinated type 1 diabetics, one of the multiple BCG T1D trials at MGH BCG lowers blood sugar levels without contribution from endogenous insulin.

ALT Sunday we are presenting new data (12:30 PM) from our positron emission tomography (PET) and X-ray computed tomography (CT) studies of BCG vaccinated type 1 diabetics. This six-patient study is part of the multiple BCG T1D trials at MGH that are approaching 500 type 1 diabetic participants across Phase I, II and crossover groups. Standardized uptake value ratios (SUVRs) were calculated to identify organs with heightened glucose uptake after BCG vaccination and to confirm earlier work that BCG vaccination gradually lowers blood sugar levels without any contribution from endogenous insulin. We also injected BALB/c mice (n=17) with BCG to test for the presence of BCG colonies in particular organs before and after vaccination.
Thank you IDS #ids2023 #idsparis2023 for hosting #type1diabetes #type1 thought leaders in Paris (the home of BCG #bcgvaccine). Great to see old friends, hear new data and give updates on our adult and pediatric trials. Food was great too!!!
Thank you Dr. Erika Schwarz-Cohen for including me in the NY/NJ ADA Research Dinner AmDiabetesAssn #Diabetes #bcg4t1d
