Welcome to Nasarawa State, we'll vote for you again! Nasarawa is OK
NASARAWA STATE: SECURITY, EDUCATION, HEALTHCARE AND LIFTING OUR PEOPLE OUT OF POVERTY Following yesterday’s visit to Kogi State, I proceeded to Akwanga, Nasarawa State, today, 28 October 2026, to continue our series of town hall meetings across Nigeria. These engagements provide an opportunity to interact directly with our people, listen to their concerns, and understand their expectations for a better Nigeria. In Akwanga, I granted an interview to a local radio station, where we discussed critical national issues, particularly insecurity, the economy, and the urgent need to lift millions of Nigerians out of poverty. I was subsequently joined by my dear elder brother and the NDC Vice Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for the town hall meeting. Participants raised important questions and shared their concerns about insecurity, particularly the challenges women face in accessing their farms; support for persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups; fuel subsidy; corruption; the present government’s excessive borrowing; the deteriorating state of our schools; and other challenges affecting their daily lives. In my response, I assured the participants that our first priority, upon election, would be to unite the country, decisively tackle corruption, and confront the insecurity ravaging communities across Nigeria. I also reaffirmed our shared commitment to massive investment in education and healthcare, including the provision of at least one fully functional primary healthcare centre in every political ward across the country. Our goal is to reduce the cost of living, expand opportunities, and lift Nigerians out of poverty. I sincerely thank all participants, our party members, the organisers, and the good people of Nasarawa State for their warm reception, thoughtful contributions, and active participation. A New Nigeria is POssible, and Nigeria will be OK! -PO

240 million Nigerians and Nigerians yet unborn are being sucked into a Debt Peonage by the Tinubu Adminstration and the ruling APC, with senseless borrowings. As at now, Nigeria’s total public debt stock is well over ₦166.79 trillion ($120.93 billion). Now, the government wants to borrow more. How can? How so? For what? How has the previous borrowings been spent? Were the funds invested in regenerative ventures? I think not! By the way by definition, "Debt peonage (also called debt bondage or bonded labour) is a system where a person is forced to work to pay off a real or manufactured debt, with terms that make the debt virtually impossible to finish paying." Nigeria will be OK, but not through frivolous borrowings the kind APC is now executing to the detriment of Nigeria.

Peter Obi is right. Show mercy to the corrupt, and you betray their victims. Let every ruler who feeds upon his people learn that the throne offers no shield from justice, and that the cries of the oppressed shall one day become the judgment of the powerful.

“I have come to realise that Nigeria is a place where the chance of survival depends on how much you have.” — Young Nigerian content creator Anti Abiba breaks down in tears as she announces the de@th of her brother today.
“Do we even value human lives in this country? We are on the verge of losing my brother, but nothing seems to be working in our healthcare system. Even though we are a little bit privileged, we have reached a point where we are running out of funds. Now, imagine those who cannot afford even the basics.” — Young Nigerian content creator Anti Abiba expresses frustration over Nigeria’s healthcare system as she struggles to get medical care for her brother. She also questioned why accessing emergency medical attention in Nigeria feels like a privilege rather than a basic right.

We have made significant progress in redesigning the Igbo Apprenticeship System. We have now signed an agreement with a German Ausbildung programme, one of the world’s most respected vocational training systems in the world. We will be selecting 20 young people between the ages of 16 and 25 from across the five South-Eastern states for specialised training in various trades, including carpentry, plumbing, welding, masonry, and other technical skills. The selected participants will first undergo nine months of intensive German language training in Enugu before securing Ausbildung placements and relocating to Germany for specialised vocational training. Upon completing their training, they will return to Nigeria to train others, transferring their knowledge and expertise to local communities as we progressively expand the programme. Our core focus is precision, technical excellence, and world-class craftsmanship. We want to develop a generation of highly skilled professionals who can build infrastructure, transform industries, create jobs, and contribute meaningfully to the development of our society. These are the people who will build the future of our region. We are deliberately building the human capital required to transform the South East.
