Nothing more nerve-wracking than playing in your own college @BirmCons but really looking forward to this with the amazing Richard Jenkinson and the British Police Symphony Orchestra.
I wonder what Shostakovich would have thought about his music being played by the police?

If you're in London tomorrow, do come along to this. @MMilwidskyVln and Ben Tarlton are stunning partners, as are the fabulous @KCOmusic with Orlando Jopling.
And Beethoven, of course, is what we all need at the moment.

Bit of Mozart with @JenniferPikeVLN and yours truly at around 2 hrs of this afternoon's show on @BBCRadio3. Must be over 10 years ago now, a different life 😊 But lovely memories.

Over the years I have played a lot of Beethoven. So I added a web page about it: danieltong.com/daniel_tong_b…

Good to see Pavel Kolesnikov playing from an iPad discreetly nestled in the piano. Time to get past this silly snobbery about playing from memory

I keep going back to @danieltongpiano’s new disc. It gives me so much pleasure - and I’ve now got Vol 1 of the Beethoven sonatas (my very old ABRSM edition!) open on my piano

It feels almost personal that @BBCNews (yes, BBC) reports that of 17 notable 2023 deaths in music, 0 were classical musicians. Especially demoralising that one of my great inspirations, Radu Lupu, was not worthy of mention. @BBCRadio3 @MusicMagazine bbc.co.uk/news/extra/o8xffun…

For the listener more used to hearing these sonatas on a modern piano, @danieltongpiano coaxes a remarkably rich range of details and colours from the fortepiano. @resonusclassics #Beethoven #PianoSonatas

Thanks, Fran, for such a detailed and considered review. And very glad, of course, that you enjoyed!

Memories of a memorable evening @BirmCons Duo Domo, Astatine Trio and Trio Havisham playing superbly in our Grand Final.
Huge congratulations to Astatine Trio and Duo Domo (pictured performing last night) who share first prize at this year's competition! The Grand Final also featured a wonderful performance from Trio Havisham. @BirmCons
