on god that’s the BEST comparison out there. If you think boycott is effective when it comes to a genocide, and practice it, but then tell vegans «not buying meat/animal products wont change a thing» then you might go to a macdonalds and be consistent for once.

I think the reason this rubs so many people wrong is because especially on the left a lot of y'all are used to being morally superior to the average person jyst for believing in the right stuff and this points out a behavioural moral flaw that threatens that superiority complex

i eat meat rarely, but i still do sometimes. there's many dishes that are culturally important to me that are meat based. i would prefer if the meat was cruelty free, but i would not forgo those foods to prove my morals. it's just too inconvenient
