Mountfield Primary School, located in Newcastle-upon-Tyne’s suburbs, is an inner-city school. It sits in one of England’s top 10% most deprived areas. They applied for Grants for Schools funding in 2025. Thanks to your support, pupils were able to attend an exciting two-night residential trip to the Lake District. Their application told a vivid story of how they’re working hard to teach pupils about nature and environmental issues, but face barriers when it comes to getting the children out in nature. 🌿 Outdoor learning should be an opportunity for every young person, not a privilege available to some. A new report from the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Outdoor Learning highlights persistent inequalities in access to outdoor learning across England, particularly as opportunities become more resource-intensive. Through Generation Green and Adventures Away from Home, we’ve seen the difference targeted funding can make in helping more young people experience learning outdoors. As a charity, widening access to nature and outdoor learning is at the heart of our purpose. We believe it’s vital that we build on this progress and tackle the barriers that remain. 👉 Read the full story: buff.ly/sqByzGT #outdoorlearning

🌿 Could one lesson outdoors each week make a difference? We’re backing the Outdoor Education Bill, which is calling for greater government support for outdoor learning, including a proposal for primary and secondary schools to provide at least one lesson outside each week. With children spending less time outdoors and concerns growing around young people’s mental health, we believe opportunities to learn and connect with nature have never been more important. Outdoor learning can give young people space to explore, connect and experience learning beyond the classroom. 🌳 We’re proud to add our voice to calls for outdoor education to play a bigger part in every child’s school experience. buff.ly/A164Xc1

The quiet pupil leading their team across an obstacle. Sometimes, all it takes is a new environment and the chance to step outside their comfort zone for your pupils to see themselves in a whole new way. The child who rarely speaks up in class can find their voice, take on new challenges and realise just how much they can achieve. That’s the lasting impact of a +Adventure residential. As you look ahead to winter 2026 and throughout 2027, consider an adventure residential that gives your pupils the chance to challenge themselves, work together and discover what they’re capable of beyond the classroom.
