As someone who is the prototypical Seymour, I can say with absolute certainty that I have met more girls that could do Seymour just than guys. The fellas just don’t wanna yearn anymore and stages are poorer for it. There is nothing fundamentally male about Seymour’s character.

Oh my god, I have said “Docteur Qui avec (whoever plays the Doctor in the story)” for years and they’ve made official merchandise of Docteur Qui??? I need that poster
I can absolutely attest to that as at one con (where I also met Mr. Shatner) my Mom said I nearly backed into Walter Koenig on the con floor. Which would have been the SECOND bridge crew member I nearly bowled over like a total putz.
I am deeply saddened to learn of Walter Koenig’s passing.
Although we did not know each other well away from the set, we shared the later seasons of the original Star Trek series and the six films that followed.
What I observed, and what so many fans have expressed over the years, was a man who genuinely loved the Star Trek community.
At conventions, Walter was rarely content to remain behind a signing table. He preferred to be among the people who had kept Star Trek alive for so many decades.
That kind of genuine connection is rare, and it will be remembered by everyone who came into contact with him.
My condolences to his family, his friends, and the countless fans whose lives he touched.
