Ever wondered why the Mac's ⌘ key looks like that? 🤔⌨️
👀 Early Mac menus showed a tiny 🍎 logo next to every shortcut
😤 Steve Jobs saw it and said "There are too many Apples on the screen!"
⏳ The team had only a few days to replace it
📖 Designer Susan Kare flipped through a book of international symbols
🇸🇪 She found ⌘, a sign used in Sweden to mark a place worth visiting
🎨 She drew it as a tiny 16×16 pixel icon
💻 And it's been on Mac keyboards ever since ✨
Did you know this? 👇
Why is “storage almost full” never enough motivation to delete those 800 screenshots? 😅
Are you saving something useful, or just keeping them “in case” like the rest of us?
Why is handing someone your unlocked iPhone fine until they start swiping through your photos? 😅
Are you a “here, take my phone” person or a “I'll show you myself” person?
Why reach for my iPhone when my MacBook is right there?
I've been using my iPhone less these days and my MacBook more. Especially when I'm settled in and comfortable, I'd rather have the bigger screen even for the little things.
Do you reach for your laptop more when you're at home too?
Why does a Saturday morning feel better with your phone on silent? ☀️
No alarms. No rush. Just checking it because you want to, not because it buzzed.
Are your weekends on silent too, or are notifications always on?
What a hectic day. Finally putting the phone down and calling it a night 😴
The weekend can officially begin… after some sleep.
Goodnight, everyone. Any plans for the weekend?
Why does leaving your AirPods at home make the whole day feel incomplete? 😅
Which Apple device do you miss most when you forget to bring it?
Hey @benjitaylor, the Liquid Glass redesign looks so good! I'd love to try it on my account too. Any chance you could enable it for me? 👀 😭
Why should better apps always need more RAM?
Discord is rebuilding its desktop app to reduce memory usage. With RAM shortages and rising prices, making better use of the hardware we already own feels more important than ever.
Should more companies follow its lead?
Why pick an iPhone colour just to cover it up? 😅
I'm team no case and no screen protector. Just the iPhone as it is.
Are you going bare too, or is that a risk you're not taking?
Why does everyone ask "which iPhone should I buy?" and then buy the one they already wanted? 😄
Be honest, did you pick yours with your head or your heart?
Okay, I'm genuinely curious now 🤔
Why are so many celebs walking around with wired EarPods again?
Is it nostalgia? The no-charging life? Or is it just a style thing now?
Would you ever go back to wired?
Why do so many of us still miss "Twitter" when it's the same place, same people, same timeline? 💭
I get it, the bird and "tweet" were part of our lives for years. Honestly though, I'm loving X.
Be honest, what do you still call it? Twitter or X?
Why do we spend 20 minutes picking a wallpaper and then never look at it again?
Drop your current lock screen and home screen wallpaper below 👇
(I have plenty but I use stock Pro wallpaper)
Why don't we give iCloud more credit? ☁️
New iPhone, and all my photos, messages and passwords are just there. Take a screenshot on the iPhone and it's already on the Mac. Lose a device and nothing important goes with it.
It's the quiet thing that makes the whole Apple ecosystem feel like magic.
What's the one iCloud feature you couldn't live without?
Why does everyone have that one Apple product they'd never give up, even if a newer one came out? 🤔
For me it's my MacBook Air. Still feels as fast as day one.
What's yours?
Why do we all say "just 5 more minutes" on the iPhone at night and then look up and it's 1 AM? 😭
Mine is always X or YouTube.
Which app steals your sleep?
Why is the first thing we all do on a new iPhone change the wallpaper? 😄
Me: wallpaper first, then I turn off keyboard clicks, then I spend way too long setting up my Home Screen.
What's the first thing you change when you get a new iPhone?
Why does the iPhone Air have one less GPU core than the 17 Pro, even though they both have the same A19 Pro chip? 5 vs 6 🤔
I went down a rabbit hole on this. Apple hasn't really explained it, but my guess is chip binning. Not every chip comes out perfect, so instead of throwing away the ones with a weak GPU core, Apple switches that core off and puts those chips in the Air.
And honestly, it makes sense for a phone that thin. Less room means more heat, and the Pro has a vapor chamber to deal with that.
Would you ever notice one missing core in daily use? I doubt I would 😄
Apple just had its biggest quarter ever in India 🇮🇳
An all-time revenue record here, plus record iPhone upgraders and record Mac sales in India.
Worldwide: $114.5B in revenue (up 12%), with iPhone up 17% and Mac up 24%. And this was John Ternus's first earnings call as CEO.
Did you upgrade anything this year? 👇
