I will continue to be a fan and supporter of the men and women who wear the orange and blue. But I'll probably send my kids out of state.
But I think my work here is done. Thanks to the few of you who took notice and agreed that Mike Thomas was the biggest problem of all.
The failure is on an institutional level. That's why I took primary aim at Mike Thomas and not individual coaches. His hires haven't worked.
I'm also not happy with the U of I either. Everyone is a damn interim, and for good reason. Emblematic of the entire State of Illinois.
So would it bother me to blow the whole thing up and start over? No. Cubit, Groce, et al gone? Fine.
I have been a follower of the #Illini since the '84 Rose Bowl team. Graduated in '98. Have never felt this dejected about the program.
The whole athletic program has been in a decline. Have we hit rock bottom? I hope so. Need to trend upward and not just a dead cat bounce.
It's hard to accept your alma mater is not one of the more desirable jobs out there. You can partially thank Mike Thomas for that. #Illini
Remove the interim tag from Cubit? I don't know, man. I certainly find him more capable than Beckman but you could say that about anyone
