I wrote a CV program to generate a tight-fit fursuit paw pattern generator. (for four-way stretched fabric). A lifesaver for all-thumbs crafters who can't trace your hand.

Sample: * Input: Simply take a photo with your hand flat on a known-size sheet of paper (e.g., A4; hand blurred in the example for privacy). * Output: A 1:1 printable pattern complete with 10 cm calibration lines.

last few images are the implementation results. It’s better to use DTD after the wrist so it won’t fit as tightly. Available on my GitHub: github.com/FireWolf-Log/FS-p…

Assume a thread passes through a plane of a fabric as a node, then a stitch pattern as graph. Stitch properties: the end point is shift from the start, all edges are passed continuously with min repetition. This can be modeled as the open Chinese postman problem (Open CPP)

Stitch comparison Top left (stretchy overcasting): A stitch I designed previously. Top right (regular overcasting): The top edge limits horizontal stretch.

Bottom left (figure-eight stitch): Graphically equivalent to the top-left; only the node placement differ. Bottom right (new stretch stitch): A new stitch for securing an overcasting strip; its path can be solved by the program above.

A Stretchable Overlock Stitch for Elastic Fabric Introduction Conventional overlock stitch stretch along the stitch direction. Our proposed method uses a “nodes + diagonal segments” geometric pattern to retain stretch.

Method As shown. Experimental Results Works. No data yet. Conclusion POC OK. Record it here for future research. References [1] Conventional overlock stitches.
