Motions to recuse D. Minn. Judges Schiltz & Tunheim that aren't yet up on PACER / @courtlistener (see courtlistener.com/docket/733…, no 11). Did the judges have the right under 1A & JCUS rules to speak to NYT? Yes Does that mean there's no good recusal argument here? No, there may be
Impartiality is imperative to ensuring public trust in our Nation’s judiciary. Judge Schiltz’s and Judge Tunheim’s on-the-record participation in a recent highly partisan New York Times Article, along with Judge Schiltz’s subsequent public comments, unquestionably calls into doubt whether they can be impartial in these cases. A judge who has publicly taken a political side on the issue of enforcing our Nation’s immigration laws cannot then preside over a case concerning one of the Justice Department’s key immigration enforcement initiatives.

So coy, this Seamus. Clicking on the motion to disqualify, or any of the documents filed yday in courtlistener.com/docket/733…, gives you a "You do not have permission to view this document."
Seamus, why do you follow random court cases? Because you never know who may show up and file a motion.

More than three years of fighting for a different forum. Judge Pauline Newman finally has one. NCLA has long argued that her colleagues cannot be both witnesses and judges in her case. Now, the proceeding against her has been transferred from the Federal Circuit Judicial Council to the Eleventh Circuit Judicial Council. On Unwritten Law, NCLA’s @VecchTweets and Andy Morris explain this unprecedented development, why it matters for a fair hearing, and what remains unknown as Judge Newman’s fight continues. 🎥 Watch: bit.ly/4dCh8HO 🎧 Listen ⤵️ bit.ly/4dDEtsI

DOGE killed 18F (part of GSA), which was modernizing the federal courts' records systems. So instead of using a government agency & its expertise — 18F did great modernizing tax courts records — taxpayers will pay Beltway bandits hundreds of millions to do the work. Huge fail.
DOGE worked. Most importantly, the civil service is 12% smaller than it was in Jan 2025. In the Fall @CityJournal, I show they were not replaced by contractors, the biggest cuts were to middle managers, and the predictions of disaster were proven false. city-journal.org/article/dog…
