I think I might permanently shut down Flamingo Literary and start afresh with a better, more organised Wordpress and open it to all writers, from everywhere, of any age, all genders, neurodivergent, everyone. I am so grateful to everyone who submitted to flamingo lit.

Also, I feel like a fraud, in a way. I’m not neurodivergent. I just feel I am taking up space, when someone else could do it better and be a better voice. I am so grateful to everyone who submitted.

Great to hear about all the Covid-19 related projects being supported by colleagues in @SwanseaMedicine today. Amazing range of projects that will make a great difference to our community.

I’m so sorry it’s taken me so long. This weekend, Issue 2 will launch! I’ve been producing the Issue on my phone (and will try and get my laptop working) to get page numbers in the Issue! 🦩

So I’m working with Issue 2, today. I am updating the bios from those who have said they would like to include one. ☺️

2+ years since we had to unfortunately close down, we still receive submissions. It puts things into perspective. We're grateful, but saddened for not being able to fulfill such expectations.

Thank you to everyone who answered about the bios! I’m just waiting for a bit of clarification on what some people want to include! ☺️🦩
Issue 2 contributors! We have emailed you! ☺️ Some of you submitted on behalf of children, and I just want to check what bio information (if any) you are happy for us to share. We won’t share anything without checking with you first! 🦩

We’ve just emailed all our lovely artists who are appearing in Issue 2! Some of you submitted bios and titles for your work, others didn’t. We are 💯 happy for you to submit your work without a bio and title (it’s your work, it’s up to you!) we just wanted to check. ☺️ 🦩

If not, then those words are a reflection of who you are and not the person they are directed at. Be kind to yourself & to others. 3/3

Yes they can but words can also hurt & do harm. What you say & the words you use should be with infused with kindness & consideration. 2/3

Some journals spend money and time on their logos. We don’t. We just used the Flamingo Emoji. It says everything we need it to say: Flamingo. 🦩
