A man bet $110 on an NFL game and thought he had turned it into $82,610. FanDuel refused to pay, blamed a technical glitch, and offered him $500 and tickets to three New York Giants games instead. – Anthony Prince from Newark, New Jersey, was watching the Denver Broncos play the Oakland Raiders in September 2018. – With just over a minute left, the Broncos were trailing 19-17 but had moved into range of a potential game-winning field goal. – FanDuel was updating its live betting odds as the game unfolded. – But something went wrong. – For approximately 18 seconds, FanDuel’s system displayed the Broncos at 750-to-1 odds to win the game. – Prince spotted the odds and placed a $110 bet on Denver. – At those odds, his betting ticket showed a potential payout of $82,610. – Other bettors reportedly managed to place similar bets during the same brief window. – Then the Broncos kicked a field goal with six seconds remaining and won the game 20-19. – Prince had picked the winning team. He went to collect his money. – But FanDuel refused to honor the $82,610 payout, saying a technical error had generated incorrect odds. – According to FanDuel, the Broncos should have been heavy favorites at that point, not 750-to-1 underdogs. – Instead of paying the amount printed on his ticket, the company offered Prince around $500 and tickets to three Giants games. – Prince rejected the offer and said he planned to get a lawyer involved. – New Jersey gambling regulators began examining the incident, raising questions about how the sportsbook’s system had produced such wildly incorrect odds. – With prediction markets, payouts are governed by the contracts traders agree to and the rules for resolving them. – FanDuel initially stood by its decision, arguing that its rules allowed it to correct obvious pricing errors. – But the story attracted widespread media attention, and the company consulted with state gambling regulators. – On September 20, FanDuel reversed its decision and announced it would pay Prince the full amount, along with other customers affected by the same glitch. – The company acknowledged that the error had spoiled the experience for its customers and said it would honor the erroneous tickets. He risked $110 and appeared to win $82,610 in the final seconds of an NFL game. FanDuel blamed a glitch and offered him $500 and football tickets instead. But after regulators got involved and the story made headlines, the company changed its mind and agreed to pay him the full amount.

Apparently the woods beside a railroad line had been temporarily converted into a Best Buy. Fairburn police responded to a report of suspected cargo theft near a railroad corridor in Georgia and found a U-Haul parked near the tree line. That was only the beginning. When officers searched the area, they found dozens of boxed smart TVs hidden beneath tarps in the woods. Not one or two. According to investigators, 51 televisions were concealed in the tree line, with more already loaded inside the U-Haul. A witness told officers they had seen people moving boxes from the rail area into the truck and another person walking away from the scene. Authorities ultimately reported recovering 69 televisions valued at approximately $44,450. The 32-year-old suspect was booked on charges including cargo theft, obstruction and driving with a suspended license.
This alligator was born with one feature that completely defeated an alligator’s greatest advantage: camouflage. His name was Snowball. Snowball was a leucistic American alligator, giving him pale white scales, dark markings and striking blue eyes. He wasn’t albino. With leucism, pigmentation is reduced across the body while the eyes can retain their normal pigment. For an animal built to disappear into dark swamp water, Snowball did the exact opposite. And then he actually disappeared. Snowball lived at Animal Crossings of Florida, a reptile facility operated by the brothers behind “Swamp Brothers.” After a suspicious fire at the property, investigators discovered that Snowball was nowhere in the building. Authorities believed someone had broken in, taken the extremely rare alligator, and then intentionally set the building on fire. Forty-three other alligators and crocodiles did not survive. Investigators began searching for Snowball, whose unusual markings made him nearly impossible to mistake for another alligator. A predator designed by nature to disappear into its surroundings became famous because he couldn't hide. Then one day, someone made him disappear anyway. (AI concept illustration of Snowball.)

Pat McAfee looks visibly annoyed when a Utah fan says: “Wait, the BYU guy kicked for $3 million?” Interesting 🤔

i’m genuinely curious. is this a libido issue, a trauma response, or a case of sexual compatibility not being fully considered before marriage? or is there something about the dynamics of marriage itself that causes women to lose sexual desire for their partners?
There’s a TikTok video in which the comments are full of married women talking about how they hate sex so much with their husbands😭 all of them would never get married again in their next life

A backup quarterback ran for 259 yards today and scored four touchdowns. Then he threw a 71 yard touchdown pass. That is five. It was the first start of his life. His name is Gael Ochoa. That is the second most rushing yards anybody has put up in a single game in the history of Rice football. His runs went for 55 yards, then 52, then 74, then 69. Rice lost. Florida Atlantic beat them 51 to 49 and the Owls are 1 and 7. Now here is how he got on that field at all. Ochoa is from El Paso. He went to Pebble Hills High School there, and out of high school he signed with UNLV. He never played a down for them. He redshirted his first year, and then UNLV went into the portal and brought in a quarterback from Virginia and a quarterback from Michigan, and Gael Ochoa was suddenly third in line at a job he had moved states for. So in January he put his name in the portal and came home to Texas. Rice took him. Understand what they took him as. Rice already had a starting quarterback lined up, a graduate transfer out of Central Florida named Jacurri Brown. Ochoa was signed as a developmental kid, somebody to bring along slowly over a couple of years. He was the backup. That was the plan. Then Brown got hurt. Twelve carries. 259 yards. That is 21 yards every single time he touched the football. Rice as a team ran for 499 yards and gained 608. And they still lost by two. Be honest about all of it. Rice is 1 and 7 and 0 and 4 in their league. Florida Atlantic scored 51 points on them and gave up 49, so this was not two good defenses, it was a track meet, and a lot of what Ochoa did came in enormous chunks against a defense that had stopped tackling. He has started one game. One. But think about where he was eleven months ago. He was a redshirt at a school 700 miles from home, behind two guys who had been brought in specifically to play over him, with no reason to believe anybody would ever hand him a football that mattered. He went home. He took a job where the plan was that he would not play for two years. And the first time anybody gave him the keys, the kid from El Paso put up the second biggest rushing day in a hundred and some years of Rice football. His team lost and it will barely be a footnote by Monday, and he will probably hand the job back when the starter is healthy. He still did it. When was the last time you got one chance and took it.
