The Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi has been sentenced to prison for directing It Was Just an Accident (Un simple accident), a tense political and moral thriller that takes place in Iran and which won the prestigious Palme d'Or at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. 🙏
I highly recommend it if you haven’t seen it.
Jafar Panahi has been sentenced to five years and one month in prison by a Tehran court:
• The new ruling, according to his lawyer, is separate from a previous one-year prison sentence
• The court also ordered the confiscation of Panahi’s assets and imposed two-year bans on social media use and travel

Oct 26: Supporting performance (Female)
Ann Savage in 'Detour' (1945)
Randomly picking one from my list of favourites. She brought so much personality to her character. Aggressive, unpredictable, sharp-tongued, you name it.
