Given the choice to potentially play for Essendon in 2027 or retire, Williams elected to hang 'em up*
Sounds about right 馃槄馃様
"It鈥檚 been a privilege to play the game I love so much for so long and I鈥檓 looking forward to my next chapter." 馃挋
Zac Williams has called time on his AFL career after 183 games.
Honouring this year's retirees, thanks to @Hostplus.
Check out Kiddy Coleman's first interview since his trade to @essendonfc 鉂わ笍馃枻
I can't wait to see what he brings to the table both on & off the field.

RAMA!!!
MY MAN IS BACK!
Take a look at what he had to say back in 2021 about his career in the red & black & what Essendon means to him.
If the quote about the fan base doesn't fire you up, nothing will 鉂わ笍馃枻
Former Bomber Adam Ramanauskas has returned to Essendon.
The 2000 premiership player will be the Bombers' VFL general manager, joining the club in a full-time role. Ramanauskas had a long stint as a player agent until exiting the industry last year. @AFLcomau
Carlton fans, wtf has happened to Adam Saad? Did he fall off a cliff?
Going from averaging 20+ games throughout his entire Blues tenure to only manage 3 games in 2026.
He's only 32, but it seems the club believes it to be the end rather than an aberration.
What am I missing?
Make it happen flight plan passengers.
I've got so many top 10 lists to run this off-season @kanecornes will think it's the 2007 GF all over again...
You'll be okay Trevor Marmalade, trust me 鉂わ笍馃枻馃槝
I have zero doubt I'd bring significantly more to the table in any kind of AFL discussion that JJ is currently providing
After being deployed as an inside mid at Essendon, can North breathe new life into Tsatas' career in a different role? 馃

It's remarkably bad how quickly Sydney's structures, discipline & discretion have all dropped off a cliff since Horse's departure
Hoping he gets a proper crack & makes something of himself.
He didn't ask to be drafted by Essendon at 5, & he for damn sure didn't deserve to be scapegoat for Essendon recruiting woes.
He's the footnote of failure in the Dodoro era.
He copped too much pressure *way* too fast
Modern sports dynasties are built around the concept of the 'Big 3'.
Boston had KG, Pierce & Allen, Miami had LeBron, Wade & Bosh while Golden State had Steph, Klay & Durant.
Until 2026, there was no AFL-equivalent roster/list move that has gone all in on the Big 3 strategy...
Until now

Is the current ubiquitous phrase for the AFL "wrap their arms around x,y,z"?
Every footy interview I've checked out today used it. It's uncanny.
If "one-wood" is rock bottom for an AFL pundit, wrapping our arms is only a small step up in comparison

Credit to @davidking34 here.
He is spot on about Essendon, specifically about the clean slate that Spike & Horse will provide the entire club.
Starting with the fans.
"It'll look different, It'll be different, I think there's some excitement in that ... (Essendon fans) will still roll up to the footy as they've always done.
"But on field, they just need to see some growth."
Couldn't have said it better.
We just want an exciting brand of footy where the young guys can let their light shine.
I always point to 2016 as my favourite season to watch the baby Dons play with such spirit & vigor that it was fun to be in attendance.
Even with a list that many thought wouldn't produce a win saw us snare that in Round 2 before going onto recording wins over Gold Coast & Carlton.
Unbelievably, we finished just 0.24 off the 17th placed Lions
