New rule…if you’re getting smoked in the game and hit a HR and are still getting smoked…lose the Wally Mascot head. Dumbest thing I’ve seen in baseball ever.

Maybe one day I'll get tired of rewatching highlights/clips/edits from the Knicks 2026 title run… but today is not that day. (the full bench reaction of the OG tip in this one is really good)

Exactly 8 weeks ago today the New York Knicks won an NBA championship. How sweet it is! Yes when the 26-27 season starts I will focus on that. But during this victory lap offseason, I learned how important it was to appreciate the time we are living in. Thank you basketball gods

America already made daylight saving time permanent once. In December 1973, 79% of Americans supported it and Nixon signed it into law. By February 1974, eight weeks into the experiment, support had collapsed to 42%. The policy never changed. Winter arrived. Sunrise in Washington DC came at 8:27am. Kids left for school in total darkness, carrying flashlights and wearing reflective tape. When Congress moved to repeal, members cited the deaths of eight Florida schoolchildren in the first weeks of the change. The energy case collapsed too. The whole point was the oil embargo, and the Department of Transportation concluded the fuel savings were too small to matter. Ten months after signing it, Congress repealed it and Ford put the country back on standard time. There's a mechanism that makes this cycle repeat: permanent DST is only ever voted on when the sun is up. Polls run in the abstract, votes happen in warm months, and the benefit, a free hour of evening light, is easy to imagine year-round. The cost is concentrated in about 10 weeks of dark winter mornings and only becomes real after implementation. So the policy polls beautifully right up until January. Today's vote happened in July. The 1974 law passed in December, right before the exact winter that killed it. If this clears the Senate, the first real test arrives in January 2027, when sunrise in Indianapolis comes after 9am. Sleep researchers have watched this loop for 50 years, which is why the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the AMA, and the National Sleep Foundation all back the opposite reform, permanent standard time. Congress just picked the one version of clock reform America has already tried, hated, and repealed.
BREAKING: House votes 308-117 to make daylight saving time permanent, sending the bill to the Senate.

StubHub is putting on a masterclass in how to destroy consumer trust on one of the world’s biggest stages. Nothing spreads bad publicity faster than fans traveling thousands of miles only to find out they don’t actually have tickets.
Hi @TeamStubHub. My order 629340404 was canceled by the seller for Brazil vs. Haiti - World Cup. Your phone support is forcing a refund, which violates your FanProtect Guarantee. The policy explicitly promises "comparable or better tickets" if an issue arises. There are currently active listings available on your site right now in the Category 3 seating areas. I do not authorize a refund. Please escalate this to a supervisor who can authorize a marketplace fulfillment transfer immediately so I can attend the event.

My favorite VC pitch story: 1999, peak Dot Com. My co-founder and I walk into Safeguard Scientifics to pitch Paytrust. They kept us waiting for an hour. Not in a meeting. Not on a call. Glued to the stock ticker, watching their paper wealth tick up by the second.
I was once pitching in a board room at a top 3 VC firm for a $15M Series A. 12 people in the meeting. One of the GPs fully fell asleep. Out cold for 30+ minutes. Nobody acknowledged it. Everyone just kept going. I kept presenting my Series A slides to an unconscious man in a Herman Miller chair and somehow that was considered normal. That's venture capital. You might fly across the country to perform for people who may or may not be conscious. It's a dance. And sometimes you lead and sometimes you follow and sometimes your partner is unconscious. If you're raising right now, just know: every founder has a story like this. The process is weird. The power dynamic is weird. You're not crazy for thinking it's weird. No one talks about it because they want to continue raising. But I'm happy to stick my neck out there. It is weird.

Underrated life advice: Have more hobbies and fewer opinions. Learn an instrument. Plant a garden. Build something with your hands. Cook. Paint. Run. The happiest people I know spend less time debating life and more time actually living it.

The sign of being a great entrepreneur is not how good your ideas are. It's how clever you can be about figuring out quick, cheap, and easy ways to try them.

I notice that founders pivot too early because the path is hard. But remember that hard doesn't mean wrong.
