That's a wrap on Hunger on the Hill 2026! 🇨🇦
Over the past week, advocates from across the country came together in Ottawa to learn, connect, and speak up for people and communities facing hunger around the world.
We were encouraged by the conversations had with MPs about Canada's role in supporting long-term food security and ensuring climate finance helps communities build resilience in the face of growing challenges.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this week meaningful. We're leaving inspired by what's possible when passionate people come together around the shared goal of a world without hunger.

Earlier this year, Cyclones Fytia and Gezani struck Madagascar, leaving communities facing widespread flooding and significant damage to homes, infrastructure, and rice crops.
We we're grateful to have been able to respond quickly through our member @WorldRenewCan and their local partner @SAF_FJKM with cash assistance and food distributions, supporting families like Annah's to meet immediate needs and begin rebuilding their lives.
This project was made possible through the Canadian Humanitarian Assistance Fund (CHAF) of the @humcoalition, with support from @CanadaDev
Thank you MP Bienvenu-Olivier Ntumba for taking the time to meet with one of our Hunger on the Hill teams today to discuss Canada's role in supporting communities around the world working toward a future of food security and resilience. And it was a pleasure to meet Prime Minister of the Republic of the Congo @MakossoAnatole and Ambassador Appolinaire Aya. Thank you for taking the time to connect and engage with our team.
We're thankful to MP @EricDuncanSDG for meeting with our team today. We appreciated the opportunity to share about the realities facing people experiencing hunger around the world and discuss the importance of investing in communities as they strengthen resilience and improve food security for years to come.

Some stories are bigger than a crop.
Harvest has wrapped up for the 8th Annual Fiske Community Growing Project, but the roots of this incredible effort stretch back decades. What started in the late 1970s, when local farmers worked together to send surplus grain to famine-stricken countries, has grown into a lasting legacy of generosity through the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.
Today, that legacy continues thanks to the dedication of local farmers, volunteers, supporters, and the vision of those who came before them. Together, they're proving that a small Saskatchewan community can make a difference far beyond its own borders.
This video follows the project through the full crop year and celebrates the people behind it. The ones who seed, spray, harvest, volunteer, organize and give their time so others can have hope.
We're proud that Western Sales can play a small part in supporting a project that reflects the very best of rural Saskatchewan.
🌾 170 acres. 🧑🌾 One community. 🌍 A worldwide impact.

In the aftermath of a crisis, basic needs like feeding your family can become major challenges.
Wilfredo, an auto mechanic and father of three, was recovering from a leg fracture when two devastating earthquakes hit Venezuela last June. He dropped his crutches to flee and suffered another fracture while escaping from a collapsing building.
Since the earthquakes, Wilfredo has been trying to plan for a surgery – but living in a temporary shelter and not being able to work are major complications.
Wilfredo and his family received food assistance from @Foodgrains as part of our Venezuela Earthquake Response. While he faces other challenges, Wilfredo knows that nourishing his loved ones is taken care of.
On #WorldFoodDay, we thank our community for helping to provide people affected by crisis with nutritious food when they need it most.
