Sometimes, as coaches, we can be too restrictive with the talent that certain players have. “I’m very lucky to have two extremely talented young players, aged 22 and 23. They still have a long way to go, and our job is to advise them. “We show them how the opposition presses, whether they defend man-to-man or zonally, whether they play with one No. 6, and how that player operates. We explain those dynamics and then try to create overloads, superiorities and spaces for other players to become dangerous. “But ultimately, it’s also about trusting the players. “When I started coaching two or three years ago, I thought I could control everything. I’ve accepted that I can’t.
