Drone pilots: Wildfires are a #NoDroneZone!
Drones can force firefighting aircraft to land, delaying critical response efforts and allowing fires to grow. Violators may face significant fines and criminal prosecution. Always check TFRs before you fly: tfr.faa.gov/.
Unauthorized drones over wildfires force firefighters to ground aircraft — putting communities at risk.

If you fly, we can’t.
When drones are in the area, firefighting aircraft have to be grounded, putting crews and communities at risk. Keep your drone away from fire zones so firefighters can do their job safely.

The National Alliance of Forest Owners and the @forestservice announced a new memorandum of understanding to mitigate wildfire risk through cross-boundary fuel break planning, construction and maintenance.
The new MOU will assist in safeguarding natural resources, communities, and infrastructure while optimizing the use of federal resources for wildfire risk reduction. The MOU provides the framework for coordinating public and private fire mitigation strategies by enabling NAFO member companies to construct NEPA-ready fuel breaks on National Forest System lands as an extension to fuel breaks on adjacent privately owned forests.
