Before the numbers, I want to explain something that is fundamental to Fortis. Transparency is not a marketing line for me. It is the entire point of what I have built. Every selection is tracked. Every result is published. The full datasets are downloadable. Winning months stay there. Losing months stay there. Nothing gets quietly deleted when it stops looking good. The purpose of the Fortis website is not to convince somebody to hand over money because I’ve posted a screenshot of a good week. It is there so that anyone considering following one of the systems can analyse the data themselves before committing a penny. Filter the odds. Look at individual years. Look at drawdowns. Look at losing periods. Look at different risk profiles. Decide whether it suits you. I actively encourage people to do that before following anything. That approach is very different to a lot of what you see on this platform. There is far too much focus on short-term winning screenshots, “BOOM” posts and aggressively selling whatever happens to be performing well at that moment. That isn’t how I want Fortis to operate. My approach is much closer in mindset to long-term investing than chasing quick wins. That does not mean sports trading carries the same risk profile as investing in an index fund. It obviously doesn’t. But the mentality is similar: Patience. Discipline. Consistency. A long-term horizon. Set the strategy. Accept that there will be drawdowns. Do not panic because of one bad month. Do not suddenly think you have cracked the game because of one good month either. System 1 had an excellent October. It has also had plenty of poor months. My approach to it is exactly the same after both. That is also why I deliberately keep Fortis accessible. Fortis Automation is £20 per month and includes all Fortis systems. There are comparable products in this space costing substantially more. Could I charge more? Probably. But I would rather keep the barrier to entry low, particularly for somebody who is just starting to explore automated Betfair trading. At £20 a month the margins are hardly life-changing, and that is fine. I would rather build something useful, transparent and accessible than squeeze every possible pound out of somebody who is still learning. Which brings me to the data. If you looked only at 2026, you could very easily conclude that lowering the odds was the obvious answer: Lower Odds: +52.17 pts Current Fortis: -60.26 pts But across the full dataset: Lower Odds: +439.79 pts Current Fortis: +1,066.52 pts Equally, No Max BSP has produced the highest raw historical P/L at +1,342.01 pts, but that does not automatically make it the “best” approach either. Higher odds bring greater liability, larger individual losses and a very different drawdown profile. There is no magic number. There is only data, risk tolerance and the timeframe you choose to analyse. That is why I publish the raw results rather than telling people which settings they should use. Download them. Big post incoming! Currently on the last day of a lovely family holiday in Lanzarote for October half term. Fully sold on getting some sun in October now 😂 I haven’t been on here much, but the other day I had a quick look and genuinely felt a bit sick seeing all the usual scammers in full swing after a run of favourites winning. And @racingblogger track record of making money from the mugs continues. The depressing thing is he just laughs it off and the majority don’t say anything. How anyone can think he does anything for the sport is beyond me, I firmly put him in the list of scamming affiliate tipsters. It’s easy to picture what his response today would’ve been if his ‘picks’ won. How many £1000s would’ve been claimed?

Anyone can take a dataset, find a pattern and make the historic numbers look good. AI is brilliant and backtesting is useful, but neither replaces understanding the market, watching races and actually doing the work. A profitable backtest is the start, not the edge. I’m literally watching people take a dataset someone else has produced, find a historical profitable angle and immediately treat it like a finished system. It’s lazy. Either the standard needs to improve, or people need to start seeing through this stuff.

Just remember when you see all this boom shite from Racing Blogger now, he is a massively unprofitable affiliate tipster who makes his money from losing. Does nothing for the sport other than promote degenerative gambling.

I’m seeing more and more ‘new’ tipsters appearing with an AI-built system and a profitable backtest. Here’s the problem: A profitable backtest does not mean you have a profitable system. Backtesting is the easy bit. Run it live for 6–12 months. Deal with missing data, odds movements, non-runners, rule changes, market liquidity and all the weird edge cases you never knew existed. Then see what’s left. AI is an incredible tool, but I also think it’s making people lazy. You can ask AI to analyse thousands of races in seconds. You can ask it to find patterns. You can even ask it to build a strategy for you. But none of that replaces actually watching races, studying markets, understanding why something might work and then putting your own money behind it long enough to find out whether it really does. Use AI. Use backtesting. Use data. But do the work as well. There are no shortcuts to understanding your edge.

Anyone can post a winning screenshot. I'm much more interested in what happens over hundreds, and thousands, of selections.
