Big news: Fortnite is coming back to the App Store in Australia tomorrow!
Today the Australia Federal Court told Apple to open up iOS after finding they violated competition law. Here’s what’s changing in Australia in March 2027:
• iOS will be open to third party app stores
• Australian users will be able to download apps directly from developers
• Developers will be able to offer only alternative payment systems and Apple can’t require devs to offer Apple’s IAP, without charging junk fees
• Apple cannot block developers from pointing users outside apps to make purchases
• Apple is barred from charging junk fees on purchases made in third party app stores
This is great news for developers worldwide and iOS users in Australia who will benefit from an open mobile app ecosystem.

Epic confirms Steam Deck currently doesn't support the requirements for Easy Anti-Cheat Linux v2.
The new implementation requires:
-Secure Boot
-TPM 2.0
-Signed kernels
-Measured Boot
Additional Linux security features
Epic says it's discussing compatibility with Valve.

Using the official Epic Games launcher still gives the same error. There is a new update today so I will test it once more when that releases.
oh holy fucking shit @FortniteLinux you might have to retire that account 😭
FORTNITE IS COMING TO LINUX
• Easy Anti-Cheat's Linux support couldn't protect games as well as the Windows version
• Epic is rebuilding it as EAC Linux v2, with protection much closer to Windows
• Fortnite tests it first, then other devs can use EAC v2 to bring their multiplayer games to Linux
• The new Epic Games Launcher is out now on Linux, and Fortnite will come through it once enough distros support it
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• TPM 2.0 & Secure Boot enabled in BIOS
• A kernel signed by a trusted distro (Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, openSUSE, Bazzite & more)
• Any extra drivers (like NVIDIA's) signed with a trusted key too
• Measured boot (GRUB & systemd-boot do this by default)
• IOMMU enabled (not needed on handhelds)
• Kernel lockdown integrity mode on, kexec off & BPF LSM active

Epic Games on the long-term solution for Easy Anti-Cheat Linux v2:
To close the gap for Linux, we are rebuilding our Linux anti-cheat implementation into EAC Linux v2. We will bring the level of protection much closer to par with Windows, in the very near-term, using existing Linux features including signed kernel, signed kernel modules, and secure boot with attestation. These requirements build on work that distribution maintainers already do, and the more distributions that meet these requirements by default, the fewer players will need to change their setup to play.
We are also planning to pilot EAC Linux v2 in Fortnite first, where we’ll test it in a live environment and refine it based on what we learn. Once we’ve validated EAC v2’s effectiveness, we’ll make it available to more game developers so they can bring their multiplayer games to Linux players too.

Cheating has made anticheat a headache for legitimate users.
I can't play FACEIT because I dualboot Windows and CachyOS using Limine with custom Secure Boot keys (PK, KEK, db) via sbctl.
My self signed bootloader fails TPM attestation. All this just to play CS2 w/o cheaters

no matter how much epic games/fortnite tries to make me hate them, i'm never giving up this gimmick. it's fun to point out epic's hypocrisy.

This is true, but Roblox has generally allowed players to use workarounds such as Sober to play on unsupported platforms, while Fortnite has went out of their way to block players from using similar workarounds like FNMacAssistant, which many have previously used to play on Mac.

Steam finally refunded a For Honor player after four refund rejections for dropping Linux support.
The player bought the game in July 2025 when Steam rated it Playable on Steam Deck and said it worked on SteamOS.
Then Ubisoft disabled Easy Anti-Cheat on Linux on September 10, making the game unplayable on Linux and Steam Deck.
Steam rejected the refund four times, repeatedly citing the standard 14-day / 2-hour policy.
The player then asked a different question:
Does Steam’s “Playable” or “Verified” rating guarantee that a game will stay playable after you buy it?
Steam never answered.
Instead, support offered the full purchase price as Steam Wallet credit as a “customer service gesture.” The player accepted
