We are *beyond* happy to announce that we have added Mastodon to our list of supported open-source applications 🐘
We know that many people find it difficult to find a place to create their own #Mastodon instance, but starting today it is now possible to do it on Fortressa! 🏰
To learn more about Mastodon and why many other people are switching to it, check out our latest article on this topic:

Did you know that Fortressa also provides a #selfhosted password manager?
VaultWarden is open-source and compatible with #BitWarden desktop & mobile clients.
Don’t use .txt or online documents to share passwords.
Do it securely using Fortressa and #VaultWarden.
Do you host your own code repositories? Or do you rely on services like GitHub?
There are pros and cons to both options, which we cover in detail in our latest article: “Reasons to Self-Host Git”

We love talking to tech businesses and people, but not only those! Our tools will also be very useful to other sectors.
Logistics, tourism, agriculture, personnel, accounting, and so on.
If you are working in spaces that are not tech-adjacent, we can help you also! 🤝
Be careful! 👀
Not all ”open source“ licenses are truly open source, but the licenses on the following list are fully open source:

1/ A short review of what open source means 👨🏫
“Open source” does not just mean that you can see the source code. It has many other aspects:
* Free Redistribution
* Derived Works
* Integrity of The Author’s Source Code
* No Discrimination Against Persons or Groups
4/ There are a lot of projects that are hailed as open source but actually have licenses that don’t qualify as open source. Be careful and vigilant!
5/ Following is a useful table to better understand software licenses 🛠

At Fortressa.com, we try to only use licenses approved by OSI and/or FSF 💫
Did you know that @Giteaio can be used as a private registry for many package managers? #Docker, #PyPI, #NPM, and many more.

We have been using Gitea for a few months now and have been quite pleased with its features, user interface, and reliability 📦
We are using an open-source #kanban system called Planka to manage some of our tasks.
Unlike some alternatives, Planka has a well-designed UI, a solid list of features, and it can be #selfhosted.
And, of course, you can find it on fortressa.com
At @DjangoConEurope, @jmayer talked about the importance of multi-factor authentication.
Indeed, #MFA is among the first features we added to Fortressa 🔐
After all… Security first 🪖
Why put your code in a pastebin over which you have no control? Particularly when there are great open-source #pastebin projects!
MicroBin is written in #Rust and seems like a good tool for #selfhosting and sharing your code snippets 🦀

DPaste is a self-hosted pastebin powered by #Django with syntax highlighting for many programming languages and file formats. Plus, there are flexible options for when snippets will be deleted, including deletion after a single view 👀

We had a blast at @DjangoConEurope!
We made a lot of connections, both old and new, and the talk by @JMayer seems to have been very well-received. (Remember to enable multi-factor auth on your #Django application via Kagi.)
Thanks to everyone who came and connected with us! 😁

After attending PyCon IT and EuroPython, next up is @DjangoConEurope 🇵🇹
Django is the foundation of the things we build, and we can't wait to learn something new next week.
Porto, Django, Python, web dev. Exciting!
If you will be there too, let us know so we can connect.
