What happens when artists come together to create, connect and inspire change?
On 20–21 October 2026, the Kenya National Theatre came alive with creativity, powerful stories and unforgettable performances as we celebrated the ForumCiv Artivism Fellowship Cohort 5 Showcase.
From music, poetry and theatre to film, visual art and immersive experiences, our 25 fellows from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania demonstrated the power of art to amplify voices, challenge perspectives and inspire social change.
After six months of learning, mentorship and creative exploration, we celebrated not just their artistic achievements, but also the friendships, confidence and community built along the way.
To our 25 graduating Artivists, congratulations! Thank you for sharing your talents, courage and creativity. May you continue using your art to inspire conversations, build communities and drive meaningful change.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Masson & Associates, our dedicated implementing partner, for nurturing this journey; to our donor for believing in the transformative power of art; and to our faculty, mentors, alumni, creative partners, and everyone who made this Fellowship and Showcase possible.

It has been 40 years since the entry into force of the landmark African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights. While this anniversary celebrates four decades of progress across the continent, it also demands urgent reflection on the current realities faced by African youth - from shrinking civic space to systemic unemployment, climate degradation, and barriers to political participation.
