@RiceWBB takes their opener over Houston Christian, who couldn't get a clean shot off until late in the fourth, scoring as many points from the line as they did from the field. Victoria Flores - 19 points, 5 boards Jordin Blackmon - 16 points (4-7 from three) Hailey Adams - 16 boards Louann Battiston - 11 points, 8 assists

@RiceWBB extends the lead to 55-26 after the third. HCU still shooting just 11.4% from the field. After only taking one shot the first half, Victoria Flores goes off for 11 points in the first five minutes of the second half. Hailey Adams all over the place with 15 boards and counting.

@RiceWBB goes into the half with a 39-18 advantage. Defense continues to be stifling, with HCU still only shooting 9.1% from the field. At Tudor Fieldhouse for the second game of an opening day WBB double dip, this time catching @RiceWBB against Houston Christian

ICYMI, check on my Locked on Coogs debut, as we discuss an @UHCougarWBB game that ended up a little closer than it probably should have

@UHCougarWBB pulls out the 73-65 victory despite some sloppy play late (and 20 in the fourth from Kiki Mcelrath) to keep Hampton in the game. Enriquez - 19 points Lutbert - 14 points, 13 boards McCowan - 10 points, 6 boards Come listen to @painsworth512 and I talk about it all here after the postgame presser: youtube.com/live/8H6gpVgjA5I

@UHCougarWBB up 57-43 after three. Had extended the lead out to 20, but let Hampton go on an 6-0 run to end the quarter and stay within striking distance. Madison Carlton starting to play with a little more confidence and Elodie Lutbert (10 points) has been a force down low when she's in the game. Enriquez continues to lead the way with 14.

After one here at Fertitta Center. @UHCougarWBB with the 20-14 advantage over Hampton. Kayla King leads all scorers with 6. Getting herself to the line off of some aggressive drives.

@UHCougarWBB with the 37-29 halftime lead over Hampton. Threatened to separate a few times, but had some issues with the Hampton press and missed a few layups after strong drives to the hoop. Six missed free throws and nine turnovers didn't help either. Strong first half from Esmerelda Enriquez with ten points on 75% shooting.

Tuck seemingly disputing any thoughts of a Tank for Sarah 2027 Comets campaign: “The biggest thing for us, though, is making sure that we're putting the best staff and the best group together so that we can really be a good team next year, right? We want to be a playoff team. We want to have a big turnaround from where we've been the last couple years."

A pretty significant bit of news dropped in this piece from @danielle_lerner. Morgan Tuck confirms that Rachid Meziane will return as head coach when the Comets take the court in 2027. Meziane’s future with the franchise had been uncertain following the move from Connecticut.

Strong exhibition performance from @UHCougarWBB. Tough to judge against a shorthanded ENM, but Coach Mitchell clearly has a much improved team. Hamilton - 18 pts King - 13 pts Lutbert - 10 pts, 10 reb McCorkle - 12 pts McCowan - 9 pts, 6 reb Llompart - 9 pts, 8 ats

Balanced scoring continues. Three players in double figures and three more with 7+ points. Double double for Elodie Lutbert, whose size is going to be huge this season.

Balanced scoring from UH so far with five players at 5+ points in the first half. Coach Mitchell getting to play with a lot of different rotations

ENM scores the first bucket of the game, but @UHCougarWBB goes on a 21-0 run to end the quarter

I had ASU/KU/KSU/UH a little higher and WVU/TT/UA/UC a little lower in mine but pretty close otherwise
