Small buybacks in the Bolloré galaxy! Good to see them back at it! I would not mind if they could hit harder! Artois buying Odet and Odet buying Bolloré. Vincent keep it going!

Société Fermière du Casino Municipal de Cannes: take out offer at 2700€ is given a green light by the french regulator which is quite surprising as the minoroty shareholders had put forward solid arguments… Maybe it would not have looked good that the independent expert 1/

After seing eight french companies yesterday, here are some thoughts. Whatever the macro or national context the ceo’s were moving forward, showing enthousiasm in expanding their business, finding new countries or segments to sell their existing products. They were not hiding 1/

Investor relations people are good but they lack this hands on, in the daily mess of managing companies aspect. I like it when it is one to one’s and that it is unexpected (was supposed to be one to few!) or when one can take the lead on a meeting as you know the company well 5/

I wrote a manifest for investing in French companies. Investing in them is not a leap of faith, it is investing in companies which have witheld the test of time! They have daced for ages taxes and regulations and yet they are still there! Link in next tweet (freewall) 1/

UMG: I think they can start improving their financial communication with their presentation. For the Q3 numbers, there are in effect only 5 useful slides out of 10. Half of the slides are of no use as they are solely title slides (Q3,important information, name of the CFO 2x 1/

a Q&A slide). There is room for improvement… Slides need to be denser especially for a company of that size. At least the press release has nine pages out of ten which are useful. The Bolloré touch will be useful! It is a quick win to fix this! 2/

UMG Q3 2026 numbers were good. Share price increased by 1,25 €. When you know that Bolloré owns 338 million shares (18,4%) of UMG well in one day Bolloré’s ownership valuation by the market increased by 422,5 M€. And Bolloré owns 28,8% of Vivendi which owns 181,8 M shares 1/

Passion is what drives me when I am analyzing companies. I always have annual reports with me (printed!) and a pen to take notes. I read them during commutes, early in the morning, at lunch and a night when everybody is sleeping, in the Eurostar when I am going to see Fulham FC.
