ONE-STOP HUB: Google rolls out AI-powered Universal Cart that tracks prices and deals across multiple retailers in one place. The system taps into more than 60 billion product listings to monitor price drops, flag restocks and surface promo codes before you check out. Google says streamlined checkout is available with Nike, Sephora, Target, Walmart, Wayfair and many Shopify merchants — but privacy details on how your shopping data is stored and used remain thin. FAKE AI SCAM: Hackers are using Google ads and legitimate Bing links to funnel Mac users toward a convincing fake Claude AI download page — and the real trick is what happens when you hit "Copy." Security researchers at Push Security discovered that the fake installer displays one command on screen while secretly placing a completely different, encoded command on your clipboard. When pasted into Mac Terminal, it shows a reassuring message about downloading from Claude's official site while quietly executing code from an attacker-controlled server. Google has suspended the advertiser accounts behind the campaign, calling it "an egregious violation" of its policies. But the attack highlights a growing problem: sponsored search results that route through trusted domains like Bing before landing on malicious pages designed to evade security scanners entirely. PRIME INFO: Amazon's new "About You" feature can include personal assumptions it built from your shopping data, searches and Alexa conversations. One user discovered Amazon labeled her with "flat buttocks." Another was described as a "fifty-year-old man" — she's not. The feature also flagged shoppers as having "no friends" and being unable to "keep real plants alive." Amazon says the profiles improve recommendations, but the company hasn't confirmed that removing entries actually deletes the underlying data from its systems. Kurt "CyberGuy" Knutsson explains how to see what Amazon knows about you and how to review or delete unwanted preferences. Full story here foxnews.com/tech/amazon-abou…

WELCOME IN: Apple introduced a $299 smart display called HomeView Tuesday that promises to make running your home as easy as having a conversation. HomeView can identify up to six household members and switch to their personalized calendars, reminders and smart home controls the moment they walk up to the screen. Many of the most useful AI features do require a compatible iPhone or iPad. What about privacy? Apple says HomeView uses protected processing environments called Secure Exclaves to isolate camera and microphone data from the rest of the system. Separately, HomeView checks that it recognizes the user's face and that their paired iPhone or iPad is present and has been recently unlocked before displaying personal information. Siri requests can run directly on the device or use Apple's Private Cloud Compute technology. Apple says data processed through Private Cloud Compute is neither stored nor accessible to the company.
